This is the pre-10am CFB vs NFL thread. Stay tuned for the noon CFB vs NFL thread and 3pm CFB vs NFL thread.

New things will be discussed.

regardless of what anyone thinks about the nfl product

every major change they've made was first championed by florio and his leather daddy peter king

overtime
defensive holding
helmet to helmet
defenseless receiver
TD celebrations

Player conduct policy - in fact they were the first and the loudest. and they've beat the drum on every stupid bullshite "scandal" with a "gate" suffix.

flagrant hits
red flag quarterback rules
moving the kickoff

so they have no credibility to complain about anything.

Nice to see florio take time out of his busy schedule of 100 "kapernick is better than _____, why isn't he in the NFL" posts.

Its curious to me that these lsu and bama fans who love good Dline play on Saturday suddenly hate it and think its boring on Sunday.

This board is obsessed with the NFL now. It's reaching Lebron level of craziness.

is that what he is up to these days. I stop in occasionally when I know there will be tears. like when our god emperor was chosen or to see them explain away the ratings of the opening night game.

i stopped reading pft a couple of years ago when i stopped watching the nfl.

Florio always wanted to be part of the club. His website took off because it was so different from and opposed to that little gaggle of sports journalists that suck each other off.

Can't forget about those. Mix in an occasional RedRifle gossip thread and you've got the MSB lineup for the day.

Complaining about something from dawn to dusk.

DL play isn't the reason I watch CFB.

I have always preferred CFB to the NFL, but to act like CFB is way more entertaining is a joke. Outside of a few really good games most of the college games are a school playing trash can or playing in some conference game that no one cares about.

Exactly. The QB play in both sports is as bad as I've ever seen it. Those "incredible" games on Saturday had atrocious QB play.

Why would the NFL be worried?

Because people aren't just watching the Cowboys because it's primetime and they have to because they're "America's Team."

I just don't know what's there to debate. I guess the obvious which one you like better, but all the other stuff people talk about all seem to be obvious to me.

- NFL players are better
- CFB players/teams have more variance so you'll see much more weird and wacky outcomes/performance
- As a result of the one above, CFB games will tend to be more exciting.
- CFB individual gameswill also be more exciting/have more meaning at the top as the value of 1 loss is wayyyyy higher than compared to the NFL

I don't know who really disagrees with those items, while they're not facts in the literal sense...they're facts.
Uhm, that's the thing.

Plenty here don't agree with your last sentence

Yah this is the first time in my life that I can definitively say that I prefer college to NFL.

eating breakfast and drinking coffee on a Sunday morning with live NFL is a damn treat.

I agree. I've only watched a couple CFB games this season (normally only watch a handful of LSU games but the SO is a CFB fan), and these guys make Andy Dalton look like Joe Montana.

I don't understand why the NFL plays 10 games at 1 EST and then 3 games at 4PM EST. WTF? The late games are almost always terrible unless Dallas or Atlanta is playing in one.

I actually dig the NFL games on Sunday. Usually pop them on TV and do work or take a nap. If a shite game is on TV, I'll just stream the game I want to watch on my laptop
