Isn’t it odd that they have shorter games than the college players? Is this an acknowledgement that most of the guys won’t be that well conditioned?

I thought that. But a major component of this league is to get the games on TV in a timeframe that suits the general fan base's attention span.

There will be 3 games every weekend, 1 per team. Fans don't want 3 2 hour games. If they can get these game down to an hour & a half or so, I think they'll get the viewership they are hoping for.

I hope it is successful. One of the guys on my club team made the league. He says it should be a combo of field and box with the shorter field and shot clock.

Curious to see the FO. Lacrosse keeps messing with the set-up. Not sure what they are looking for - when I started playing, the ball was in the back of the sticks.

Do you want to walk that back or continue to act like a retard that doesn't understand concepts common in every major sport played here?

I'm looking forward to watching it.
A coach I played for is coaching in the league so I have a team to root for.

They are really posting a ton of videos via social media this week.

Still on the fence of paying the $38 for the games on NBCGold. I think I'll just watch the Sunday games on NBCSports.

1st game on NBCSN comes on in 20 minutes.
Both games yesterday went to OT.

Didn’t watch all yesterday because of Champions League and college baseball but have the game on now.

Surprised to see Kyle Harrison and Joe Walters still playing, feel like they’ve been around forever.

The Redwoods having both Sergio Salcido and Sergio Perkovic is almost as bizarre as the Chargers having Melvin Ingram and Melvin Gordon.

Pretty strange he also pretended not to be able to infer what "15 yr 2 pt. arc" meant as well.

13k people for the whole arse opening weekend, yikes.

Gonna hold out judgement since last weekend was tough with a lot of other sports competition (NBA/NHL finals in the evenings, UCL final and college baseball regionals during the days) and fans might be burned out from the college season wrapping up.

As low as those numbers appear from the outside, the MLL numbers were even lower.

Very interested to see how this thing goes.

Admittedly haven’t been able to keep up with the league as much as I would like. Overall, how’s the inaugural season going? Lots of hype and fanfare going into the season, just curious as to how it’s worked out so far from those of you who’ve been following.

Wait, they’re making freaking lacrosse some sort of pay per view deal?

Not quite. NBC Gold gets you anything not on the NBCSN or NBC, itself.

They're generating a ton of buzz. The online/social media impressions are larger than the game audience, by a long shot.

They're succeeding in the youth engagement at greater numbers than any pro lacrosse league to date. The players are holding more camps/clinics using their name & skillset like never before as well. More kids are getting exposure to the sport.

The PLL has absolutely been pushing the MLL, positively, as well. Where the MLL will benefit is from their new ESPN/ESPN+ deal they signed, which beats the ever living crap out of the PLL's NBCSports/Gold tv deal. Which, I believe will ultimately lead to the merger between both leagues.

My hope is the merger results in a 12-16 team league. Having 2 pro leagues this year has proved there is more than enough talent to fill the rosters. I have coaching & playing buddies who were solid players that can't make gameday rosters in the MLL. And the talent level in the MLL is still extremely strong, fast, skilled, etc.
I personally think a possible 12-16 merged league would really succeed under a home based + travel schedule.
Example (16 team league):
Week 1
8 games @ 8 home team sites
Week 2
8 games, the 8 teams that were away are now at their respective home sites
Week 3
8 games over the playing weekend at 1 or 2 "tour city" site(s), like the PLL is currently executing with 3 games a weekend. Instead they can do 4 or 8 games over the weekend.
Week 4
Repeat Week 1
Week 5
Repeat Week 2
Week 6
Repeat Week 3
& so on for a full season.

This keeps the home audience engaged & allows for continued growth in areas that aren't ready to support a single team.
