Do they even normally show the anthem in MLB national broadcasts? Serious question.

Mookie Betts was kneeling for that cheesy stunt before the anthem, when it was finished he stood up for about 10 seconds until the anthem started and went right back to a knee. Clearly wanted optics of kneeling directly for the anthem.

I've thought it was dumb for decades. Has nothing to do with patriotism, or anything like that.

On Opening Day they usually do, but that's it until the playoffs.

There is no point. I know it would be piss of many. But I've always thought it's completely unnecessary to play the National Anthem before every game. Play it for International competition, and I'd even be ok with championship events. But the need to play it before every single sporting event is quite frankly pointless.
We don't play the National Anthem before we go into work every morning. Why are sporting events different.
