What has Kobe done without Shaq or a really stacked team? Chris Paul with Shaq in his prime would have 3 rings as well. If Pau Gasol goes down with an injury, the Lakers don't make the finals.

Is that statement really "shitting" on Paul, or just stating the obvious?

I wouldnt say "never".

But if that was the only example, id have no argument.

Just look what the all defensive team thread turned into. Who was the 1st guy there.

And there's obviously many more examlpes

Kobe is better than Chris Paul. You forget how fricking close the Lakers were to only winning one championship from '00-'02. Kobe is a go-to scorer at the end of a game. I'm not sure they make that 13-point comeback in the 4th quarter of game 7 against the Blazers in 2000, or beat the Kings in game 7 in 2002 without Kobe.

Before that season, Kobe was demanding a trade. He never would have gotten the team to the finals without Gasol.

I only compared teams because it was relevant. Kobe is a great player no doubt, but the criticism people put on Paul is that his team only won 49 games and was a 7th seed. The bench on the Lakers probably has 2 or 3 players that would start for the Hornets.

Kobe will never be the player Paul is.

no PG in the history of the NBA will be the player Kobe is. and if they can compare to him, then they aren't a PG.

just like paul will after the hornets suck dick for a couple more years. no one likes to lose and have a front office that makes bad moves.

who in the west would have beaten them last year? the lakers cake walked through everyone and gasol proved to be not much help a lot of the time

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he helped fill Bynum's spot after he went down.
