Yum Brands CEO Greg Creed said Thursday that he has seen no negative effects from the company being associated with the NFL or other sports leagues.

According to Kate Taylor of Business Insider, Creed said, "We're not seeing impact on any of that on our business," in specific reference to Pizza Hut, which is among the companies under the Yum Brands umbrella.

Creed's comments came after Papa John's founder John Schnatter said Wednesday that the NFL has hurt his business due to national anthem protests and other issues between the players and league leadership, per ESPN's Darren Rovell.

Creed noted that Pizza Hut's affiliation with the NFL, MLB and NCAA has been beneficial from a sales perspective.

Stupid because pizza hut doesn't have NFL marketing in every commercial that's aired constantly throughout all games.

The only way papas loss could impact the hut is an increase which is unlikely to be overly noticeable because there are other chains and endless mom and pop joints to pick up any people boycotting papa because of the NFL association

Yep.

Plus Papa John's specifically noted a decrease in sales during NFL telecasts, which means lower viewership is translating into lower sales.

I didn’t realize they had a partnership with the NFL. Their television ads certainly don’t reflect that.

Only morons believe Papa’s claims of blaming his sales dip on that shite, but some of these Trumptards lose their minds over every fricking thing regardless of facts.

Papa saw an opportunity to cut some costs and get a nice sales bump from gullible Trumpites

Of course. The "protests" are an easy target, total low-hanging fruit for those dumb enough to vote for Trump or get worked-up over what people do when the national anthem is played. The truth is, Papa John's is garbage, and "Papa" didn't do himself any favors by getting political in the past. But hey, free market and shite, so STFU Papa.

Well if people are so easily moved by advertising, why wouldn't negative advertising affect a business.

Papa Johns with Peyton Manning is more linked to NFL football than any other corporate sponsor.

So if people have choices, and they have a ton...why order from Papa Johns if you don't want to?

Because maybe it sends a message to the NFL - Papa Johns seems to be sending an S.O.S. to the NFL. Isn't that how it works? Hit them where it hurts, in the pocket?

Papa Johns is an easy target because of all those incessant Peyton Manning commercials.

But I mean, reality - if people really wanted to punish NFL advertisers and thereby the NFL...they would stop drinking Budweiser.

People said they would buy Papa John's pizza as if PJ's was making some kind of stand.

How tf could pizza hut see a decline in sales? If they did they would be bankrupt. No one buys that shite

These "protests" have been going on for like 2 months or so. I have a hard time believing Papa John's would see a significant drop in that short time span to identify the protests as the issue. If this had been at the end of the season (so after the SB) and they came out and said this then maybe it would be more plausible.
