I like how Nicholls State is included.

Should have included ULL to watch the conniptions ensue.

Hahah this has been lopsided for at least 12 years. I remember playing there as a freshman in 03.

There are many that are nice on the home side and complete shite on the visitors side. The only knock I have with Hahnville and Destrehan is they don't have visitors locker rooms. With all the money the school system gets from Industry you could at least give them a small locker room to go to at halftime.

Not in many years though. Sad where the bayou teams have fallen to. When I was a kid in the 60's Hahnville- Central was a heated rivalry and a war. Since the bridge opened up and Destrehan moved up that became the big rival. I remember when CL won district beating us but we won the state championship game with them 14-13 or 13-12 something like that.

I don't think CL has won a playoff game since the late 90's, it's pitiful how bad they've fallen off. Pretty much since Bob Gros retired they have been sorry. When I was growing up they were in the playoffs and advancing every year.

My dad was on that CL team in '68 that lost to Hahnville for the State Championship. What year did Gros come over to CL?

Coach Gros left Hahnville in 75 to go to Nicholls, he was a coach there while I was there. He probably went to CL around 80 or 81. That man was a helluva coach and a nice guy. My dad was the Asst. Principal at HHS while he was there.

Beat you guys up in Mathews just 3 years ago with a 5'7 150 lb 4th string QB to put the death nail in Valdin. He looked and sounded mentally drained after that game. That was as physical of a game as I've seen in years.

Not since 1996 I believe, went to the quarters. The hiring of Randy Breaux after Gros retired set this program back decades. Breaux was a decent coach he won just enough to keep his job, just enough to make you think next year was the year he takes the next step, but he never did we went a decade of 6-4 - 4-6.

Then after that we just have shat the bed with coaches despite having good coaches from outside the area apply. Good ole boy hires in Callais/Pitre/Douglass set the program back another decade.

Twice Tommy Minton was a finalast for the job, offered the job once but turned it down because he couldn't bring his assistants with him. I can't imagine where this program would be now if we hired Minton and got rid of our dead weight assistants and replaced them with Minton's a decade ago.

I think we're finally settled at head coach with Menard. He's stubborn as hell but he's easily the best coach we've had since Gros retired. He should have CL back to respectable in the next few years. We have a 6'3 172 & 6'2 175 sophomore WR's that are going to be stars, and Raceland Middle this year is as talented as I've ever seen, as well as having 50+ kids out for freshman football so there's help coming. We just need to get us a few more big linemen to compete with the better 5a teams, skill position wise we matchup well.
