I still think the NBA will win if this happens. If Chinese citizens love the NBA as much as it seems they do, will they really be OK with their government banning games on TV, jersey sales, jersey wearing, etc.?
Can China really handle angering their own citizens at the same time as fighting this Hong Kong battle?
I doubt basketball will be the thing that gets them in such an uproar to have folks die over not having NBA streams.

I think the domino effect from all this could end up being bigger than any outcome involving just the NBA.

It's not really a lie, your average American didn't care about this situation
It's been a daily trending topic for months on the world's largest social media platforms. Anyone who parrots this bullshite about no one in America cared or knew about HK situation until this past weekend is lying.
Really they're projecting because I guarantee these people think "Well I didn't know about it so surely no one else did"

I absolutely disagree. I'm sure there is social media "mention" data to support that this was largely a non-issue across the board until recently

The best one of those was EA and Blizzard having a pissing contest over which company was more evil to gamers and EA having to concede the title.

If it was just the NBA, it would be bad for them, but the buck may stop there. The moment Blizzard shite the bed, but not just the bed, the entire room with how badly they fricked this situation, I don't see this stopping anytime soon.

And for the record, some of us actually have been following the HK shite for much longer than the last week.
You've been " Following" Hong Kong ? So brave.
The world " followed" Tianamen Square , yet freedom loving Western nation's ( like the US) were thrilled to do business with China. Help turn them into an economic miracle despite their deplorable human rights record. Yet we're banned from doing business with Cuba ,Iran,N Korea, etc....
The best way Americans (like Pop ,Kerr,etc..) can effect change is through calling out it's own hypocritical government that claims to be a Beacon of Democracy/ Freedom . Imagine had enough Americans called out discouraged the US government from doing business with China in the early 1990's.

Blizzard has gone from shitting the bed to explosive chronic diarrhea.
One year ban and stripping of prize money over HK comments, along with firing the streamers who interviewed him.
Forcibly ending the stream of a group who expressed support for the HK protests.
At least one broadcaster for them resigning because he doesn’t want to be part of Blizzard making an example out of people.
When you make EA look good by comparison, you done fricked up.
