NY Times article on James' assemblage of this team

quote:

Before excuses are made for LeBron James, before the bulk of the blame for consecutive horror shows at Oracle Arena is heaped on a supporting cast of Cleveland Cavaliers that has turned to dust when removed from a comfy Eastern Conference refuge, it must be reiterated that this was the team the King himself courted. This was the crew James left Miami for, the one he reconfigured with back-room leverage upon returning home and then stood by approvingly when a coach with an impeccable (albeit limited) N.B.A. record was dismissed for a replacement with no head-coaching record at all.

I guess I'm sorry you didn't witness it and don't understand it

i did and i bought into the hype (i even got excited over Space Jam, saw that shite in theaters, and saved up money to buy a goddamn jersey featured in the movie)

i clearly said there is objective data to make this argument (and win)

I'd love to see data showing MJ was overrated.

one of the article's examples is kyrie, who was there before LBJ was

the other is a role player (JR Smith)

If Kyrie wasn't in The Letter, it was by decision, no?

Where did you get that from anything I said?
You quoted a game that I was pointing out where he took over, then responded with a few things he did wrong.

How else am I supposed to take that other than you insinuating you disagreed with me? Honest question.

Plenty of people think MJ was unstoppable in the playoffs.

Perfect example of him being overrated.

But basically, they're only shot is for him to have an off the wall usage rate IMO. Reason being, no one is stepping up.

Agreed

And? I don't really get this point, that is really not a point at all.

He had a plan in place. And there's only 1 thing that stopped, an all time great team that came out of nowhere, no one remotely saw this coming. That's the simple explanation as to why Lebron hasn't won a title since his CLE comeback. He hasn't assembled a team that is the best or 2nd best of all time.

Good troll by Phil. Everyone knows LeBroney doesn't have the killer instinct to do so.

How do you explain the loooong list of times he's done so?

My guess is close your ears and say, "la la la la la"

Love watching LBJ fail, but he's stuck in a shite spot right now (he put himself there to be fair). If he's too passive and relies on Irving and Love to do them, he gets shite on. If he tries to win it all on his own, he gets shite on.

To this day, I wonder if Phil has something against Pippen cause he never pops up in these bullshite quotes. Dude averaged 20/8/8 against Portland on 48% from the field.

Quote should read:

"LeBron needs Prime Pippen to walk through that door."
