Exactly. An absurd suggestion

What sort of mindset leads one to think the people who tried to do the right thing getting screwed is "so awesome"?
The right thing is not using stupid platitudes like “blood money” and “murderous regime” to besmirch the reputations of players who chose a different option than you.
The PGA players were complete hypocrites to outwardly question the morals of the LIV players.

If this ends up being a global tour will it, in fact, grow the game?

Patrick Reed and any other "disliked" LIV golfer is just not allowed to play high-level professional golf anymore?
There’s always Q-school and sponsors exemptions. I doubt Reed will have to go that route, but not everyone on LIV is going to be allowed onto the PGA tour.
There’s several players on LIV that were barely hanging onto their tour card. They are going to have to earn their way back onto tour. High level players like DJ, Koepka, Bryson, and the like should be able to simply walk back onto the tour with no problem.

Neither side of players were right or wrong.
I guess it depends on how you view unabashed greed.
But running to LIV claiming it wasn't about the money and bitching about being oppressed making mega millions on the PGA Tour playing golf is as bitch made as it gets. I can at least respect Harold Varner for embracing it and being honest even if I don't agree.

Yeah for guys like James Piot you will be right. I was speaking about the big-name LIV guys who move the needle.
Patrick Reed is currently the 47th-ranked golfer in the world. I think he'll be good to come back to the Tour even if Rory and Justin Thomas hate his guts.

This deal is going to get massive regulatory scrutiny
Golf was monopolized years before LIV ever showed up. This proposed agreement between the sanctioning bodies is an even more monopolized return to the past.

Smylie made a good point on his podcast about the LIV tournament in Australia.
That tournament was a big draw and might have been an eye-opener for some people about some untapped markets around the world. With this merger, some more of these "golf-starved" places around the world might be identified and visited by the tour.

3rd, there will be a board that will decides current LIV players whether they are allowed back to the PGA Tour. They basically said…some players will get a “frick You”…or “You’re Cool”…sounds like Phil and Reed are getting a “frick You”.
Is there going to be a LIV board that decides how much money gets funneled into the PGA Tour?

1st, they said this is the PGA “snuffing” out the LIV Tour.
Hey, whatever helps them sleep at night.

Reed is popular. Look at the posts on this board about him. Popular does not equal liked. In all sports you need guys to root for and guys to root against. Reed is popular because people love to root against him and some like to root for him. Just because you may not like him doesn’t mean he isn’t popular. Imagine Reed and Rory being paired in the last round of the Masters. That’s all that matters is eyeballs.

This is funnier than PrimeTime at Colorado.

I think what's inevitable in regards to a PGA players board is this: Players are going to demand a voice and Jay is going to have no choice but to give them a seat at some table. The players will then revolt against him and he'll be gone sooner than later. Think of how Twitter got rid of Jack or the host of other CEOs who pissed off their board and got sent packing.

This is true. If Reed is near the leaderboard on a Sunday people will watch to root against him.

Face of PGA turned down $750m only to now be rejoined with LIV players without the compensation.
The face of the PGA tour already has over a billion after losing hundreds of millions in a divorce. Something tells me he’s going to be ok

Don't disagree with this, should have just called them greedy shitbags who don't care about the sport or their own legacy.

Never heard of the guys you're talking about but they sound like morons.

Tiger could have known what was coming and probably still wouldn’t have taken the money. He didn’t want any part of the heat Phil was dealing with. I think being the center of one massive scandal in life was enough for him.
