You think the PGA will make it that easy for them? I don't

They resigned under certain auspices, should the Tour try to retroactively change that, they'll have a hell of a lawsuit on their hands.

USGA controls the US Open and said players that qualify will be permitted to play regardless of tour status.

The Open don't give a frick about the PGA Tour.

The only one that may be in jeopardy is the PGA Championship. I assume they would be barred from that, hence why Phil didn't defend his title

Not the issue slick.

I said they were part of the PGA and tour event...which all the majors are.
The control they have over specific events is a different matter.

Lots of smoke out there that ANGC is about to go full torch to LIV players.

The majors are in no way affiliated with the pga tour.

They resigned thinking they were being savvy ("you can't fire me, I quit"). The PGA can amend bylaws for acquiring active status however they please. Someone who quit has no standing to come in later and say "well, when I quit, the rules were different. You can't do that." The people who have the strongest arguments for legal action would be those who didn't quit but had earned lifetime exemptions (Phil) which is why he didn't resign. It's always been pretty obvious to me Phil wants to go to court over this, and I imagine he was waiting for the letter sent today and will get his wish.

It's only smoke coming from PGA Tour supporters. The Masters Tournament is 10 months away. Why would anyone expect them to make a decision on this now?

Will be fun to watch all the people who jerk off to the masters every year turn on them all because they like watching a soap opera

A lot of them are, but there are good ole local boys from Augusta that are members and not "rich as frick."

I guess it depends on how they do their memberships up there. Because according to Wikipedia cost of membership is between $100k and $300k with yearly fees being in the 10s of thousands of dollars.

You really are an idiot if you think people would refuse to watch The Masters bc of their stance on LIV.

From my understanding, this is not true.

That's exactly what they can do according to some lawyers that reviewed it

So they're not trying to make a decision 2 weeks before their tournament like the USGA and R&A. They've assuredly been discussing their plans for months now.

Thats way off

Imitation due is around 40k and monthly dues around $500 a month

That’s a mid tier club rate at best

Where did I say they won’t watch?

But it AGNC bans the LIV players, are you still going to be team LIV?

LIV tournament is live on YouTube right now and I'm liking the coverage.

I like how they are all going to finish at the same time.

What, you can’t resign your employment or membership in a club or association? Ridiculous.

I'd take that with a grain of salt. And a lot of those not rich members have been members for decades.

Nonetheless, the below Golf.com article from 2019 estimates the initiation fee to be $40k with yearly dues of a few thousand, which is less than a bunch of country clubs around me and not even close to being as expensive as a lot of good, not great, country clubs around the southeast. There are pretty average clubs with Augusta's rates in my area.
