I guess they can go through Q school. Wouldn't that be fun in their 50s
It can certainly be argued they're sticking to their guns and that's respectable. You'll have a hard time arguing it's ultimately better for the PGA because it's not.

The entire premise of Augusta is in the image of Bobby Jones, who choose to never accept a dollar to play golf. Those guys are sanctimonious as frick
If they ban past champions, they would do so to their own detriment. We are well beyond the days of turning up your nose at making money to play golf.

The only one that may be in jeopardy is the PGA Championship. I assume they would be barred from that, hence why Phil didn't defend his title.
Phil was eligible to play and it's run by The PGA of America, not the PGA Tour

Because it could ruin the PGA Tour and professional golf in general. It’s not difficult to understand.
I'll be the first to say I don't know a ton about professional golf, but this seems to be alarmist.

Where are you getting that they are trying to destroy the PGA?
LIV has 8 events this year and poached 48 golfers for this event already. They have already said they plan on having more events next year. It doesn't take much to see that they and Norman are trying to destroy the PGA Tour.

They’re not going to announce a time frame and don’t have to

With the financial backing this Tour has, there wouldn't have been shite squashed when those offers started getting made. But I'm sure Phil would have you believe his hand was forced, but Phil is a complete narcissist who lies about everything so sure. It's amazing how a guy worth $400 million has made you feel sorry for him

This wasn't the first time the Saudis tried to do this.

So you're making an assumption they are trying to kill the PGA. Sounds like you are buying into PGA scare tactics. They can both exist and work their schedules around each other. They are completely different formats.

Norman is still salty that the PGA crushed him last time he tried to do this and now that he has limitless dirty money backing him, he's trying to go scorched earth

because they haven't technically played in it yet. The PGA Tour waited until all the guys today teed off to send out that letter

If you can't see the handwriting on the wall, then I can't help you. LIV already has 8 events and 50 golfers. With their seemingly unlimited amount of money, it will be even more next year. The PGA Tour won't exist as we know it in two years if this keeps up. The PGA Tour is doing the only thing possible to try and stay alive.

They haven't tee'd off in a LIV event yet.

Then maybe the PGA should let them play in both so it doesn't kill them? They are going to kill themselves by reacting the way they are to this. You are acting like it has to be one or the other. They can coexist by working schedules around each other and with them being completely different formats I really don't see them as competition. LIV is more of a side show where players are getting paid silly money that they will never be able to come close to on the PGA. Just let them do both and it's a win win for everyone in my opinion.

What do you think all the sponsors and tv deals that funds the PGA are going to do if the pga let’s all it’s talent go somewhere else?
