2. MIAMI DOLPHINS (TRADE WITH WASHINGTON REDSKINS) — QB TUA TAGOVAILOA, ALABAMA

There are two ways to generate incredible value with the No. 2 overall pick: draft a franchise quarterback or trade back and accumulate more picks. The Redskins should at least consider Tagovailoa, but a trade back is best for their long-term prospects, as they can now add three potential starters to a depleted roster.

As for the Dolphins, they’ve positioned themselves beautifully to make this move with three first-round picks in their arsenal. They’ll gladly package that extra draft capital to draft Tagovailoa, who has posted 90.0-plus passing grades in each of the past two seasons and spreads the ball around the field with strong accuracy.

5. WASHINGTON REDSKINS (TRADE WITH MIAMI DOLPHINS) — OT ANDREW THOMAS, GEORGIA

Rest of the list

I'd be pretty surprised if Washington passed on Chase Young at the 2 spot

Far too many receivers before Jefferson, imo.

Would be shocked if Justin Jefferson went behind the three WRs taken right above him in that mock

Also not having Chassion in the first seems unlikely

What?

Jalen Raegor, Tee Higgins, and Denzel Mims all going ahead of JJ would be a shock to anyone

Not really, that is what most mocks have.

Agreed, he’s probably the fourth best wr in this class, tangibly for an NFL receiver.

Which ones are you looking at then because most I see have him 4th or 5th WR taken.

Well considering the actual article posted had him at 7th. Did you read it?

This mock has him as the 8th WR taken. Which would shock me and a lot of people.

Most places have him as the 3rd or 4th behind The Bama duo, Ceedee, and sometimes one of the 3 guys I listed, so 5th at worst WR off the board.

Yeah it just depends where you look, NFL.com has him mocked the most to Green Bay at 30, going behind Higgins/Shenault mainly.

The next group outside the big 3 are all so close they flip flop all around.

Again I’ll repeat that this is the only mock I’ve seen anywhere that has that many guys ahead of Jefferson and I would be shocked (because it would be shocking) if that happened.

But if different mocks have him behind one of the 3 then it’s feasible he could be behind all of them.

Or he could be in front of all of them. Sounds like WR4-WR7 are pretty close

It's just about fit at that point. 7th may be shocking sure, 4th-6th shouldn't be though as those are common in mocks.

Yep, so then it comes down to fit/need. Most people project Jefferson as a slot WR in the NFL, which changes which teams value him.

I’m not saying it can’t happen—I’m saying i would be shocked if it did.

Not sure how that became a controversial opinion
