I need someone smarter than me to come up with a name to this scandal that is a play on “Stolen Valor”.

Are they doing this with cell phones?

From this morning’s ESPN story

“An opposing Big Ten school looked up in-stadium surveillance video from a game earlier this year, and sources said the person in the seat of the ticket purchased by Stalions held his smartphone up and appeared to film the home team's sideline the entire game.”

The damning evidence will be of the assistant in the stands with recording devises at opponents games. That's the rules violation. Apparently there is surveillance video showing the assistant at road locations with electronic devises which are being sent to the NCAA.

Whether or not you think the rule is stupid, it's sounding more and more like there is clear evidence of cheating. Something will come of this. What and when is the only question.

We all know they're cheating. But is it really proof with someone holding up a phone? I have to think they'll be looking for other type of devices.

When the person holding up the phone is a paid staff member who already isnt supposed to be there?

I’m surprised they let this leak out last week. If they knew he bought tickets to the Ohio State / Penn State game on both sidelines, I would think they would leverage that opportunity to get more evidence.

I fricking love this.

Or ya know, just come up to him during the game and say you are with the NCAA and want to see his phone.

I have no idea if they are allowed to do that but it would make this a better story all around. Especially if he ran like the villain in a Die Hard movie

All advanced scouting is a violation of NCAA rules, although the filming makes it worse. It's a dumb rule, but it's a rule. It was originally put in place as a cost-cutting measure.

Sources: Michigan staffer Connor Stalions bought tickets for more than 30 games at 11 Big Ten schools over the past three years. Also, video evidence of sideline taping is expected to be sent to the NCAA this week, caught by stadium surveillance this year.

NFL had videos from rams, jets, and 2 other teams, with Patriots cheating. Those tapes disappeared and were destroyed, expect much the same in the end.

Although, this could be Michigan trying to rid themselves of Harbaugh. This would be cause to fire him and pay little compared to what they oew him

Take this with a grain of salt, but anonymous poster on Reddit is saying that the people going to the games are parents of walk-on/scout team players that don't dress for games.

Upon basic analysis of Connor Stalions Venmo he sure does have a lot of people paying him back for “t-shirt” orders
