All of this can be fixed with collusion. Every school stop offering any money whatsoever. Let those kids sit at home for a year or two. Then the madness will stop. Coach up the kids you do have. But no one wants to bite that bullet. It will all even out after a couple years like it is, but you’ll save millions. There will always be kids who want to play. Instead of the 4.4 speed RB, it may be a 4.8 guy. The stadiums and tv contracts are generated by the schools, regardless of who is in the uniforms. No one cares if Bryce underwood quit Michigan tomorrow, the stadium will still be sold out. Once they realize this, the power can return to the universities.

Let the 100 or so elite guys go play XFL. Make 32k a year lol.

everyone is allowed to legally pay players now. And what we have as a result is the OP, where you're paying thousands per month just to beg on your knees to keep them from leaving.

What rational person with a functioning brain thinks this is how college athletics should operate?

Oh it's a total shite show and I love it.

Schools make money off players, players want to be compensated. Only certain schools were allowed/willing to risk paid players. Do you blame Georgia at all? Because they played a role in this, along with Bama, Texas, Ohio State, USCw, etc.

I watched one game last year beginning to end (LSU vs Ole Miss). I could have never imagined not caring about big time college football but the system has become fricking retarded. You simply can't have the Wild West setup that currently exists and expect people to continue to give a shite as much.

Yep burn it all down. All this greed and lawlessness is going to lead to the bubble bursting. What an absolute shite show.

It’s not like their options are play running back or learn Excel. If it’s Boise state offering 75k or everyone from the SEC paying the same “32k” capitalism still wins out.

It’s the dark forest issue. You can’t possibly expect EVERY college team to collude and say here’s what’s best for us.

This is dumb

But when I sit and think about it, paying a man with a butt cut 10 million a a year to coach a college sport also lacks any logic so what the hell

I love all THIS!! Kirby and UGA are just mad inflation has hit their payment system. The whining by Kirby is like sweet Mountain Dew. If any fans are buying anything guys like Kirby are spewing then they deserve to lose the sport they claim to love.

The vast majority of college teams have seen recruits flip due to payments for over 40 years. This is nothing new to those fanbases. But now that fanbases of the schools who have been buying classes for decades are now losing players they are screaming that the sky is falling. It’s just awesome.

The sky is not falling. The landscape has just changed. Adapt or die. No different than any other era of changes. Folks who took advantage of the previous system always whine the loudest. I don’t see 80% of teams whining. I see 80% of teams now able to buy recruits like the 20% have already been doing. And poof - the SEC hasn’t had a team in the National Title game in 2 straight seasons. Coincidence? I think not.

I can't imagine what I would do now, with $5K/mo., and no bills to pay.

Imagine all the little monsters running around flush with 20 grand a month in their pockets. That's gotta be hell on a high school campus dealing with them and their parents.

One of the big things that really pisses me off is that these players will still get free shite from the schools, while the regular students are paying out the arse. And some clowns don't think they should pay taxes on the money.
