They won’t fire Bill frickin Belichek midseason and insult him like that

This is more than likely just a ploy to try to get more eyes on the international game to boost ratings so the nfl can continue to push its ‘worldwide’ agenda

As bad as it is, I think Kraft has too much respect and appreciation for Belichick to fire him mid-season.

Lombardi died

Walsh bailed early as did Parcells (many times)

Steelers have had 3 coaches ever

I’ll give you Shula.

they are going to drop him after management decided to let Tom Brady go to Tampa ?

Bill had been trying to 0hase out Brady since 2014 when he drafted Jimmy G.

He also wouldn't sign off on a multi-year deal for Brady after 2019, and only offered a 1 year deal to him, so he walked.

Tampa offered a 2 yr deal with a 3rd yr option. If NE had offered that, Brady would have stayed. It was basically Btadys last straw with Belichick.

BB era is over, but you let the man finish out his time there---not midseason. The fair assumption is what he's lost on his team this year is absurd

IR:
#1 WR - Kendrick Bourne
#1 pass rusher - Matt Judon
All pro punt returner, starting CB - Marcus Jones
Back-up DT - Daniel Ekuale
Back-up LB - Raekwon McMillan
Back-up T - Riley Reiff
Back-up T - Tyrone Wheatley Jr.

You got a point with Judon and Jones but Bourne being their #1 is part of the problem. The rest are backups. Add all those guys back it's still far from a playoff team.

They're in rebuild mode, but if its BB's refusal to tank --- than yeah get rid of him.

Not a refusal to tank but lack of confidence in GM Belichick to rebuild.
Having said that, I doubt they fire him midseason because no matter what he'll get you draft compensation from another team.

idk, dude was trying to win in Cleveland with Bernie Kosar and Vinny Testaverdez and he won 11 games in 1/2 with Vinny.

Now he’s expected to win with Washed cam Newton?

the team is passed the “we can carry any QB days” that won Matt Cassell 10 days and the QBs have stunk.

Tom Brady is a legitimate all time QB.

but Bill hasn’t even had decent QBs in the year without Tom

Those Browns were the Ravens (since certain posters on here still didn't know that).
Bill is 81-95 as a HC when Brady doesn't start. Not exactly a small sample size.

Just do it at the end of the season. The season is shot so let it go and behind the scenes find you a new coach.

I don’t see this happening but I do think it’s apparent this is his last year. I’m more interested to see if he gives it a go somewhere else and a team is desperate enough to give him total personnel control (which I’m sure he would demand). Washington’s new ownership group? Bears? Chargers with Herbert in place? I don’t see LV after Mcdaniels just flamed out

Tomlin had worse injuries a few years ago and still managed 8-8.

IMO Gibbs and Walsh were better
Coaches than Bill.

Gibbs certainly, he won a SB with 3 different QBs.

Agreed. And Walsh basically reinvented a modern offense. If he stayed I think they win in 89 and 90….. I know they won with George but it was wal she’s team.

What’s the upside to firing him? Call me old school but you let the guy who coached you to that many titles finish the year.

you dont fire someone the stature of Bill Belichick

People don’t get paid eight figures in a cutthroat, zero sum business like professional football to sit on what they did yesterday. If you’re not a piece of the future, you’re gone no matter what you did in the past. I am quite sure Belichick has cut guys who played a big role in winning Super Bowls.

I personally think the Patriots should move on from Belichick. I don’t think it solves anything to do it midseason, but they are a terrible team and the guy is in his 70s and been there over 20 years. I think the Pats would be better off rebuilding with a new voice and fresh approach.

A lot of people don’t know this but Belichick’s secret dream has always been to coach a WNBA team.

My money’s on him getting the axe and then being signed to helm the Connecticut Sun…
