This is a pretty insane stat from last night. Anyone watching could see Mahomes was running for his life the whole game but running almost 500 yards before his passes/sacks? Damn!

That's the most pre-throw/pre-sack yards run by any quarterback in any game this season.

I thought Tampa's DL was going to wear out with all the running they were doing chasing Mahomes. But they kept bringing it the whole game. They were the real MVP.

I'm quite amazed at some of the passes he got off. Dude was running for his life all night.

He has developed a bad habit of floating back 20+ yards versus sticking with the pocket. Sometimes it’s needed to avoid the pressure. On the flip side, if he drops too deep then DEs don’t have to bend to rush him and the angles get off for his OL.

Exhibit A

And he hit his receiver in the face mask with that throw

Dude was running for his life, getting hit on every play, on a bad ankle, and was still making accurate throws.

He's just a great qb no matter how you slice it.

It's pretty ridiculous that he was A) able to get this ball of at all and B) that this was a spiral that hit his RB in the helmet ~30 yards down the field

Agreed. While he is athletic enough to avoid sacks/negative plays most of the time, he's rarely going to run backwards 10-15 yards and then make a positive play against a very good defense like the Bucs.

He should just run forward. If they sack you, it's a minimal loss. But you give yourself a much better chance of creating a positive play that way than by sprinting 10-15 yards backwards.

That's my only amateur "critique" of Mahomes. He's incredible overall.

Tampa D was the MVP of the game.

The throw before where he was being tackled and still threw a dime to the back corner pylon for an almost diving TD was just as ridiculous. Two of the best throws I've ever seen.

It wasn't Mahomes fault they lost. Receivers have to catch the ball when it hits them in the hands. Should've ran the ball more as well but woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Mahomes is maybe one of the most impressive QBs I’ve ever watched.

Tampa Dominated the LOS and was great in coverage too

When people talk about arm strength it’s making a pass while falling down that actually hits a receiver 30 yards downfield.

There are great arm talents in the league history. Aaron Rodgers, Favre, Elway, Stafford, etc.

But Mahomes' combination of power, accuracy, variety in release, etc. makes him the greatest arm talent in NFL history. I'm convinced of that.

These two and one other -

Unreal display of sheer arm talent.

Arm TALENT for real

It’s not just how far he can chuck it, but the accuracy is amazing and often without his lower half to generate and additional power

That’s a short stop throw in the NFL if I’ve ever seen one. Only someone with a polished baseball pedigree growing up and pull off the shite he arse pulls.

As for the topic. That’s insane. It was either run 500 yards or eat 10 yard sacks over and over again.
