A Carolina Panthers practice squad player seen dancing in a crowded restaurant without a mask this past weekend lost his job Monday.

The Panthers released practice squad cornerback Josh Hawkins in addition to wide receiver Seth Roberts, the team announced.

Photos and video of Hawkins dancing at a Charlotte restaurant gained social media attention because of his lack of a mask.

I’m sure they would’ve cut McCaffrey for the same thing.

Is this supposed to make a point of some sort?

??

Panthers cut a guy who disobeyed their rules and didn’t give them much value in return. I don’t see what the problem with that is?

If you’re a guy on the cusp of the team, you better not give the team any reason to part ways with you. You’re on a shorter leash than a starter or star and you know that (or should).

Why would the Panthers keep a guy who doesn’t give them much value AND doesn’t follow their rules?

Is it really that hard to figure out? They’re making an example of the practice squad guy to quiet the Karen mob.

Jimmy Johnson would cut a special teams player for falling asleep in a film session.

Moral of the story, understand your value before you do something stupid.

Practice Squad = lucky to be on a team

Does potentially (key word) risky behavior that can cause him and other people to get positive, leading to an outbreak, and closing their doors and risking games?

yeah, he's gone

Or they’re not going to spend any time dealing with a practice squad player who doesn’t want to follow team protocol.

This has nothing to do with “appeasing the mob”.

Pretty sure a similar thing happened a few years ago. I think the Cardinals (I think Ariana was the coach) cut a practice squad player for parking in the wrong parking spot. If you don’t bring the team value as a player and you cause other issues outside of the field, you aren’t worth the time or money.

Yet Matt Rhule kept Charlie Brewer in the game after he suffered a concussion last year. What a joke

True story. After this, a reporter asked "What would you have done if Troy Aikman fell asleep in a meeting?" Johnson replied "I would have woke him up".

No of course not
Mcaffery could get a DUI and injure the passenger and he wouldn’t be cut

Once in a team meeting, Charles Haley came back from the bathroom, pulled down his shorts, wiped his arse, and threw his poopy toilet paper at 49ers linebacker coach John Marshall.

“Charles used to beat off in meetings while talking graphically about players’ wives,” says Michael Silver, who covered the 49ers for the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. “It got to the point of ejaculation.”
