That stadium needs more and better parking. It also needs better access, one crappy road in and out.

The stadium only has capacity for like 5000 people. The road that goes to Marconi, Wisner, and south or north in the middle of the park isn't that bad for what it is and where it is.

This will be typical New Orleans. It will get renovated but never maintained.

For post season travelling officiating crews it needs a clean, secure locker room.

The Sunday leagues are more competitive than the Jesters were this year.

Always glad to see city park facilities improved. That said I’ve always kind of wondered about the need for both pan American life and tad gormley.

Could a proper renovation of tad gormley, with actual locker rooms, concessions, and parking, accommodate all events held across these two facilities?

Coached a few times and played at Pan American for high school soccer. It is in an awesome location in my opinion and should be the premier soccer field in the area for big high school games. 4500 people can get great crowds for smaller high school football games also.

"Phase one of the project, estimated to cost $1.2 million, includes installation of synthetic turf donated by the New Orleans Saints, plus new goalposts and netting, a new PA system and a new scoreboard. The work is expected to be finished by Sept. 5, in time for the start of the high school football season"

- Phase I seems like what was needed ASAP in time for high school football season.

"Built in 1973, Pan Am Stadium was last renovated in 2008. Next year, it will get new lighting paid for by FEMA"

- Phase II will be fantastic also. They had multiple posts with bulbs out.

"Phase three of the renovation, which isn’t formally scheduled, is expected to address bleacher repairs, locker room and bathroom renovations, press box and door repairs, and parking improvements. CPC is seeking additional funding from private donors for this work"

- Overall this is the big one. The field and goals itself were very nice, but the real issue this stadium had was exactly what was mentioned above. Bleachers, Locker Rooms / Bathrooms (BIG TIME), press box, door, and parking were always the biggest complaints.

Parking especially. Even though it is in a great location the one road into the area is poorly lit at night + pot holes everywhere. Once you get to the stadium the parking is horrific. Just a gravel lot on the side and behind the visitor bleachers. Any big game parking was a nightmare. Plus it floods. Glad to see they are finally addressing all of this.

Gormley needs a new scoreboard more than Pan Am… shame the best games in the city every week have to be played on inferior facilities to EJ, WJ, and Bobby Nuss

Yea that seems like an issue for tad gormley. I think its capacity is 20,000. Id much rather an event with 4,000 people in a 4,500 capacity venue than 4,000 people in a 20,000 venue. Being at full capacity always makes for great environments.
