can suck to watch at times, but this is dumb.
It's terrible health wise for both the offensive and defensive linemen. Jason Kelce has talked about how terrible it was for his knees and neck numerous times, he just said it wasn't something the OL could complain about due to how effective it was. But he's said he absolutely hated running it due to how bad it was on his body.

So when the running back is staying on his feet when getting hit and 3 or 4 OL and others start pushing the guy 5, 10, sometimes 15 yards down the field and in the endzone, from behind, we are still good?
Don't hurt those snowflakes Philadephia.

He also said that it shouldn't be banned.

We watched this exact play cost the Bills a playoff game
Yeah due to poor officiating mostly.
I didn’t have a problem with the tush push until the Redskins playoff game…it’s not stoppable if it’s literally a penalty on the defense to try and time the snap to stop it.
But it is not super exciting to watch, wouldn’t mind a rule that no other player can push/lift/carry etc a ball carrier. If they do the play is dead right there (like forward momentum but in reverse). The offense already has so many advantages already

Did they jump offsides?

Yes because trying to time it and risking being offsides to stop it is the only way to stop it…because if not they get the first down (and in this case touchdown) anyway
But then even that was called a penalty and told they would grant an automatic touchdown? That’s absurd
You can’t allow hard snaps, the tush push and say the defense gets called for an automatic touchdown for getting “tricked” by the hard count trying to stop the tush push.

Wait. So your problem with the play is that the other team gets called for a penalty when they……commit a penalty??

Simple enough.
If you don't like it, stop it.
Anything else is just soy.

Green Bay might have won the legendary Ice Bowl game by an illegal push.
#30 isn’t signaling a TD, he’s holding up his hands to try to convince the refs he didn’t push Bart Starr over the goal line.

Good luck stopping it without being offsides

good grief. so you think it's perfectly healthy for one or two grown super human men to push one man into 2 or 3 or super human grown men? league doesn't care bc it isnt likely to cause brain damage.

Why doesn’t GB do it?????
Posted on 2/24/25 at 7:33 pm to Fun Bunch
What are they trying to ban, specifically?
This is weak
Tush push can be stopped
But if you don’t have the team to stop 3rd/4th and short, then you better make sure you don’t put yourself in that situation

I have no sound logical reason for it to be banned, other than I hate it and it sucks to watch.
Not if you’re an Eagles fan. Especially when you see other teams attempt it and fail miserably.

Goal line stands used to be one of the exciting things in football . I don't remember seeing one in awhile.
You should watch a packer game sometime, it’s kind of our thing.

Because LaFleur can be a goddamn idiot with the offense. And we have an athletic quarterback who is absolutely zero threat to run the ball for some reason and it kills so many drives.
Now I’m getting all fricking worked up.

I’ve often wondered why they don’t use his athletic ability more.
