This was talked about in the draft lottery thread, but I think it warrants its own thread.

The organization exposed themselves to massive risk in what was essentially a coin toss to retain a top 4 pick because “they were due some luck.”

He should be fired tomorrow. You don’t make franchise altering decisions because of the completely irrational notion you were “due luck.” (At least you don’t admit it publicly) In fact, their second half of the season tanking was so egregious, you could say karma would have them lose the pick.

I don’t keep up with the irrelevancy that is the Indiana Pacers. What was the massive risk he took?

Pacers got a player from the Clippers in February and traded this year’s first round pick. It was top 4 and 10-30 protected, meaning if the pick falls in the top 4 or 10-30 they get to keep it. If it lands 5-9, the Clippers get it.

Pacers were tied for best odds for the #1 pick. They fell to 5th, so the Clippers get that pick now and the Pacers get nothing after tanking.

It was a huge gamble and did not pay off.

Surprised it came up 5th after this year. I thought we were due some luck.

Dude, this is an NBA franchise, not a craps table at Circus Circus or an 80's game show.

He should be fired. Risking a lotto pick in this year’s draft of all years, for a 30 year old Zubac is one of the worst trades I can ever remember.

Of all the years to NOT TRADE a 1st, especially with a team in the lottery, it’s this year.

What a loser. Completely self inflicted. He shouldn’t cry about luck. The 5th pick in the draft is way more valuable than Zubac.

I did some more research on this. The Pacers only had a 52% chance of getting in the top 4 and keeping their pick.

The GM gave away a chance at a franchise player for Zubac and a 50/50 coin flip. Just brain dead

L Frank fleeced the Pacers and you knew they were gonna rig the draft to give the Clips 5-9

Couldnt believe it was 5 to make it obvious

2026 5th
2029 1st
2nd 2028
Mathurin
Jackson

For Zubac/Brown is a solid work. Im sure he will frick it up by trading all the picks for Giannis now
