Literally impossible for your helmet to not make some sort of contact when hitting the chest. Glad they didn’t call that targeting.

I agree, I just think the inconsistency of the rules is hilarious. It seems like they always take “shock factor” into account unless certain teams are involved

That wasn’t even the Alabama game, and the reason is the Miss State QB was defenseless as a passer, so any contact to the head is targeting.
Rising as a runner is not defenseless, so it has to be crown of the helmet.
