re: Owners or Players?

Exactly. I'd let the players take me to court. I'd only give up what the courts make me, which will be less than what the players want to see. When it gets down to it, the players are simply pons for the owners. Regardless of if the players play or not, the owners can get different players and still have a profitable league. Yes, the owners will be viewed as major aholes, but fans will still show up eventually.

Neither.. But the decertification and ramifications are on the players. The owners last proposal was well within the realm of getting a deal done.. frick em both

Owners. The players SHOULDN'T be able to play name the price. They're EMPLOYED by the league and the owner's. You cannot give the players more power than they already have. If need be, let all the players go bankrupt since most of them don't know how to handle money anyways, and they will come crawling back with their tails tucked. Pretty fricking lame that millions of dollars isn't good enough for a group of guys getting paid to play a game.

This is what I have been saying. Those greedy assholes bitch about needing more money and having to take care of themselves and their families financially. Well, first of all it isn't the owners' responsibility to make sure the players are financially secure. Secondly, if half those dumbasses knew what the word "investment" even meant, they wouldn't have any problems with money at all.

I'm on the players side, since it is the owners locking them out, but I think both sides are to blame at this point

Not a good point. The worker always plays name the price.

Of course not, you find another job/occupation. I don't feel sorry for the players. After all, they all have, or atleast had an opportunity to attain a college degree free of charge.

If I went to my boss and said I want you to open up your books so I can see how much you make so I can figure out how much I should be making, he'd tell me to hit the bricks. The owner can find different players just like my boss could find a different employee.

the business owners
the players want to dictate how companies they don't own should be run? GTFO
go find another job or accept your 6, 7, or 8 figures to play a game and like it

An NFL franchise..

The Owners don't need the NFL or their players to be wealthy. You're kidding yourself if you think they do. These guys are multi billionaires because of old money, oil, and investments.

Can I go with the fans because they are the ones getting royally screwed.

The owners can simply find the best 2nd tier football players who would be more than willing to accept whatever the owners are offering. The current players will be left with nothing. They will not be able to make anything close to what they would make by being in the NFL. The owners have absolutely nothing to gain by allowing the current players to see their books. What happens if I was a gardener for say Peyton Manning and one day I told him to show me all his financial info so I could determine what I think he should pay me. Think he would do it? Even if I was the best gardener in the world, I'm still doing my work on Peyton's lawn and he owns the place. I'm sure he would simply find another guy who may not be quite as good, but adequate enough to make his yard look good and at a price he though was fair.

I'm not really sure anyone is to blame. Both sides want more money. That's life. I just hope the situation is resolved, soon.

PLAYERS! extra games, less rookie money, and a weak arse profit sharing scheme....all players, frick the owners.

If the players don't like it they can leave.

@gizmoflak.... Hahaha you accept "NFL" football with Quincy Carter and Jeff Cargos at QB. I'll supplier the players. The ownersown jack shite without the best players.
