Nah...wife should have told someone ie police, another family member to drop a dime, anonymous phone call to police.

None of that matters.

If urban knew, his responsibility to the university was to let them know.

If he didn’t do that, he will be fired with cause.

You just lost the argument. As soon as you break out the H-bomb you've admitted you've lost the argument.

Besides, point to where Urbs directed his assistant coaches to beat there wives.

This is one of the few scenarios where bringing up Hitler is not an argument loser

Haha yeah comparing CUM to a maniac that was directly or indirectly respondisble for the destruction of a continent and the deaths of 50 - 80 million people is perfectly logical comparison.

Carry on

Joe Paterno did nothing wrong too, huh

Joe Paterno placed Penn State in violation of Title IX (opening them up to massive civil litigation) and violated Pennsylvania state law regarding the reporting of suspected child abuse to authorities.

Urban Meyer did not violate any provision of Title IX (the wife was not an employee of the university and the abuse did not occur in the coaches job capacity) and there is no Ohio law mandating the reporting of suspected spousal abuse.

Legally, the cases are vastly different. But nobody cares about that because we live in an emotional society that values feelings over facts.

The great irony is many of those who will sit here and compare Meyer to Paterno wil later head over to the politics board and bitch about emotional snowflakeswhi ignore facts.

I mean this seems honestly like Meyer didn’t do anything wrong besides lying about it at the press conference

This matter was brought to the police and they didn’t arrest Smith

So why would Urban be a bad guy for not firing a guy who the cops didn’t even arrest?

So far there appears to be 14 people who support spousal abuse.

Explain

Smith was taken in by the cops and then not arrested or charged

So you for the firing of employees accused of crimes that aren’t charged with the crime?

Who said that? If the allegations are proven true Smith should be put under the jail. Stop slandering me.

CUM hasn’t been alleged to have hit anyone.

Honest question here - if your subordinate walks up to his wife at a BBQ and knocks her arse out, but she refuses to press charges, would you keep him employed since he isn't convicted of a crime?

If Urban knew about it and didn't report it, he's in violation of Ohio State's own policy. That's not debatable.

Little different don’t you think. Dead body or missing person police would be involved from the outset

Domestic violence, not reported to police, how in the hell is urban supposed to know if it’s true or not? Is he supposed to fire an asst coach for allegations? What if the wife had an axe to grind with the husband? Just take her word for it and fire the guy? Should urban call the police for her and risk a defamation case brought by the asst coach?

Where does his responsibility as it relates to an assistant coaches marriage end?

What if the domestic violence led to the death of the victim? As it often does. Would you still be saying the same thing?
