Sounds like the women beater has dirt on Urb and tOSU and the University is trying to get out in front of the coming shite storm.

That's not exactly true. He has to report it to OSU. He can report it to the police if he wants, but OSU requires it.

Retribution. You can find a story every day of a woman being killed by her abuser after getting a restraining order, for example.
It also torpedoes the career of your main breadwinner, and when you have kids, that's a problem.
Most of the time women just want the beating to stop. They're not interested in ruining someone.
*I say most of the time because most domestic violence is some nobody with no money who isn't a target for exploitation.

This case is a good example of one reason. She has to know powerful people don't want it being public and has to think she might get trashed if she makes it public.

The issue is Urban's wife works for the school too. That's my understanding of why Title IX is even mentioned. And how her knowing may tie in Urban if those texts do indeed say he knew about it.

I have not read through all of the pages before posting and I would be surprised if it hasn’t been mentioned, but this is not just a moral issue- this is a Title IX issue. Meyer is an employee of a state university. If he had knowledge of abuse relating to the university he is required by law to report it.
It does not matter if you agree with Title IX or not. That’s the law.

Yeah, that's correct from what I can gather. Just wanted to clear up that the victim wasn't an employee.
