This thread is funny. So outside of the most important position on a team, which team is better? Classic.

then you discredit Graham, Sproles, Colston, and PT's accomplishments because it was all Brees

Think it is more to the point that the first time the Saints sold out of season tickets was 06. The team was even so shocked they put a banner up commemorating the event in the Dome next to the retired jerseys and SB banner

you realize the 49ers, despite their history, have been relying on corporate donations the fast few years in order to sell out their stadium.

But after last year's NFC Championship run, they are selling out

It is pretty laughable that people are calling out Saints fans. Despite our pathetic history of winning, the fans have been pretty solid.

Apparently seeing an increase in ticket sales in times of success is a phenomenon unique to New Orleans, unlike the cities of Dallas and San Francisco, which are remarkably consistent in their support of their franchises and are NEVER known for throwing their coaches and QBs under the bus

it wasn't even a time of success for the Saints. It was following 3-13 season. We didn't want to lose the team

Every fanbase has bandwagoners... the Saints' bandwagon just happens to include every female in the state.

Uh. Never once did I claim that the 49ers had great fans or great fan support or sold out their stadium for that matter. All the Saints fans kept talking about the wave of support that has always been there so I was pointing that they never sold the season tickets for the stadium out until 06. I am not seriously questioning the dedication to the Saints I am merely posting relevant information in reference to this dedication.
As for the banner, They sold the tickets in 06 but I don't know when they put the banner up but since it was before the SB win I guess y'all just needed something to be up there to fill all that empty space. Point being, commemorative banner for season ticket sales is not in same category as winning Super Bowl or having your number retired by the team you played for.

then you didn't read the thread. San Fran apologists brought up the Saints being bandwagon fans since 2005. Wasn't a part of the discussion until San Fran fans got butthurt

here's the original flame:

Ask the OP he removed QB's from conversation.... Saints fans are so sensitive, worse than Bama fans actually and worst part is most only became fans in 2005

Seriously though the Saints are the largest bandwagon around (and this is from a Cowboys fan). Talking football with Saints fans is just about the worst thing imaginable, especially if that Saints fan lives in Mississippi... where they all are bandwagon fans.

Well then you should quote him not me, when you are responding Tigerbait.
Also Fwiw the people that seem most butthurt here are Saints fans. For example Lester Earl calling me a "bandwagon frick". Well Lester to answer your question I have never been to SF but have seen the Niners play 6 times in person. One of those being the 55-10 arse whipping the put on the Broncos in the Dome in a Super Bowl. Now that I am older and have more financial freedom I hopefully will have the opportunity see them many more times in my lifetime.

I'm a Saints fan and love the Saints, but my vote here goes to the Packers fans or Steelers fans.
