the Astros are a cheap franchise and always have been. and they spend money on stupid shite; like beltran, who will be 40, will get 16 million. hell, why won't they spend the money on a young guy with future potential? they act, and they always have, like a small market franchise. Houston is the 4the largest market in the country and management of the Astros act like it's Oakland or KC. at least they used to have pitchers, now, pitchers are just not something they spend money on. imagine a winning club w/o pitching. it just doesn't happen does it.

yes or no: do the Astro's have a future all star in their farm system in the next 3-5 years? emphatically: NO! especially on the pitching side. ZERO stud arms.

Maaaan this month took a toll on me, knockout blow being game 5. Now I can't get rid of this head cold, behind a bit on work.
My game ranking:
WS G5
WS G2
ALCS G2 (G7 too)
WS G7
Honorable mention ALDS G1, b2b in first inning and Altuve starting off an epic October.

Oh, wait...the Astros did win...
I keep waiting for someone to tell me this whole thing is a dream sequence, kinda like the JR getting shot on Dallas deal.

I think Morton was the only move I was negative on. I was all about the Reddick/McCann/Beltran moves from what I remember

re: Which MLB teams have some of the better farm systems?Posted on 6/3/14 at 3:39 pm to PrimeTime Money Yes the Astros have a great farm system....and each and every year the major league teams' record reflects that greatness. The cubs are another such team....seemingly always competitive...lmao cue the "just give it time bunch"..lol

Has the Dodgers fan behind home plate flailing his arms at every Astros pitch gotten proper recognition? He was more valuable to his team's cause than Bellinger.

There is always a lot of relieved pent up frustration from life long fans when you finally win.
Saints fans know all about that
The 2 championship runs were very similar for me. The main difference is that for most of their existence, the Saints were an absolute embarrassment as a franchise, while the Astros had a lot of good teams down through the years. The Saints finally became respectable under Mora, but couldn't win a playoff game. Then they were irrelevant again for a while til Payton got there. At least the Astros had the playoff teams in 80, 81, 86, then the Killer B era.
If you had asked me at any point between 1980 and 2000 which franchise would win a championship first, I would have almost certainly said the Astros every single time.
It still doesn't seem real!
