Nobody is saying that the BSU player was innocent. I would bet that Chris Peterson will suspend that player for acting like that. He runs a tight ship. BSU showed great restraint and composure.

Ok anybody else put in that situation would have wanted to do the same thing. If I had just got my arse handed to me and somebody ran up to me and slapped me on the shoulder talking shite, my first thought would be to drop him. But I wouldn't be stupid enough to act on that impulse on national tv with my career possibly on the line.
I think the shite he did after that was more messed up. Shoving teammates and coaches and getting into it with the fans is whats going to really frick him.

That doesn't show the other guy walking up and banging on Blount's shoulder. He smacked down pretty hard when Blount was trying to talk away. Not saying it deserved a punch, but he was trying to start something. You could see why Petersen was giving him an earful, even as Blount was walking away.

Players talk a little shite before the game, a lot of shite during the game, and a little shite after the game. Of course, lots of guys shake hands and offer congratulations after the game, but that's not the only thing that goes on afterward.
The Boise guy gave him a little shite for the comment and also gave him a sarcastic slap on the back that wouldn't have hurt a 5-year old girl. That deserves a few extra wind sprints after practice from the coach and getting yelled at for a couple of minutes.
I can't think of many guys who would sucker punch a guy for something that minor.
