Once you switch your prediction, it's completely meaningless

No it's not.

It's the NBA. If you aren't switching your pick, you aren't trying.

if he was getting fouled that often, he should have kept doing what was working, and not settling for long jumpers (he wasn't hitting)

He had more FTA than FGA, so you can't say he was settling for jumpers that much. And again, he hit those jumpers in OT, so he could have been hitting those jumpers in regulation. It wasn't like Westbrook was shooting the ball much better anyway.

not if KD isn't getting himself open

Yes, even if he isn't getting open himself. You give him the ball howerver you can and let him go to work. He can't go 9 minutes without a shot.

quote:

because the team NEEDS him shooting and scoring

They need him creating offense. Yes, he has to shoot and score himself, but he has to try and get other people involved. When Westbrook has attempted more than 20 shots they are 2-3 in the playoffs and 4-0 when he hasn't attempted more than 20 shots.

They should have had Durant bringing the ball up in crunch time

Against Tony Allen, the best in the NBA at getting steals, I think that is a really really bad idea.

He would have scored or found an open shot for someone else.

Ah, so no chance of him missing a 20 foot, contested 2 pointer?

quote:

Westbrook can score but Durant is more clutch than him, it's always been that way

Of all the guys who take clutch shots(potential game winners), the best players, Durant, statistically speaking, I believe is the least clutch of all, so that stance is truly unfounded and really impossible to back up with logic or reason or facts.

But you predicted OKC in the Finals after the playoffs started, i believe.

So yea, your Mavs pick was rendered moot at that point.

You only switch your pick when the team you origionally picked has been knocked out, and you definitely don't brag about one prediction after changing it multiple times.

but westbrook WAS shooting the ball much better

he was 1 miss away from 50% after regulation compared to about 33% for durant

that stat says to me:

the thunder are 2-3 when durant is playing shitty offensively, and 4-0 when durant is shooting well

Bragging about life and including xbox in the same sentence is pathetic.

And then assuming someone on the internet is inferior to you because they don't play xbox is even worse.

You don't avoid due to speculation. Phil Jackson won a bunch of championships because he knew to run the offense through his closers in winning time. Jordan and Kobe are not point guards but he put the ball in their hands, told everyone GTFO the way and be ready to hit an open shot. Durant is more clutch than Westbrook and no one in their right mind would argue that. Brooks is just not putting the ball in his hands enough when it really matters.

Westbrook was 11/25 in regulation. That is shooting the lights out I guess? Durant was a more effective scorer than Westbrook was becase he was getting to the line at a much better rate.

quote:

if he's not getting open, you can't get him the ball

It is impossible to deny someone the ball for that long. Hand the ball off to him, have him take the ball up.

that stat says to me: the thunder are 2-3 when durant is playing shitty offensively, and 4-0 when durant is shooting well

Durant in losses: FGs(3pt) FTs

Game 4 vs Denver - 8/18(5/6) 10/11

Game 1 vs Mem - 11/21(3/5) 8/11

Game 3 vs Mem - 10/24(2/7) 0/1

So yeah, maybe 1 bad game in those losses, and 10/24 isn't horrible.
