But then the other guy brings up Dirk, and Dirk maybe technically be a 4 like those guys, but we all know, he is NOTHING like those guys, and not jsut because he is better, but his game is completely different as well.
he still counts as a 4. He's just the new protype of what a 4 can be. We might see a gazillion slashing kobe bryants before we ever see someone with dirk's skill set again. Not saying dirk is better than kobe. I'm just saying that he breaks the mold and convention of what a 4 should be.
he's so big. so fluid and quick for his size. Releases the ball so high. And has so many moves and counter moves. His fallaway is unblockable. And what helps is that he just doesn't fricking miss. Ever.
And that's why he's so good. He doesn't need a pick and pop. He can create from the post, and out of a double team, because he can get his shot off accurately at any time, from any spot on the floor.
funnily enough, he started playing like an MVP when he moved into midrange and the block as opposed to the 3s he was shooting with Nash when Nellie was running the show. He just became that much more efficient and deadly.
if dirk wins a title, he leapfrogs malone and barkley in the top pfs of all time debate. and tbh i'm not sure he's not there already.

What does it matter if you switched your pick and have been on the Celtics bandwagon since game 10?
If the Celtics were to win this series, you'd be gloating that you picked the Celtics all along.
Once you switch your prediction, it's completely meaningless.
And who cares about your Mavs pick, you pick them every year. It's meaningless and isn't a prediction made because of knowledge or anything like that.

I was just trolling, I knew Miami would likely win the East
and nobody had the Mavs in the Finals this year, except LUMINARY

Luminary, I'm just glad Dirk is defying the Zionists who want to keep him down

If Dirk wins a ring with Tyson Chandler as his 2nd best player and Jason Terry as his 2nd option, he should be considered one of the 10 best ever to play the game.
Shoulda won a ring w/ JET as #2 in '06...
to Dirk

bad play design?
impatience on the part of the inbounder?
maybe he's physically incapable of getting free?
all three?
i agree. it's just odd.
lots of people clamor for kd to get the last shots, but he seems to struggle getting open for them, and thus russ is forced into jacking it up, because he is still the 2nd best option.

dude he was like 5/14 in regulation if he drove, he got fouled. he hit his FTs also. that's how he got points. but he didn't drive enough, and he settled for fadeaways and 3PT (that he didn't hit)
This is just stupid. First off, he got to the line 16 times in regulation I believe. So either he got fouled a lot on all those fadeaway 3s or he was doing something different. Second, he ended up going 9/20. If he can still knock down jumpers in the 3rd OT, there is no reason why he couldn't have done it in the 4th QT. Instead, he didn't shoot the ball for over 9 minutes and their lead vanished. Westbrook has to try and get KD the ball. He just has to.
quote:
he's had an off series
BS. If anyone has had an off series it is Westbrook. KD is shooting the ball just as well as he did in the regular season. Yet he is only averaging 1 more shot a game despite playing 9 more minutes a game. Westbrook on the other hand is shooting worse than he did in the regular season, is taking more shots and averaging fewer assists.

KD turning the ball over twice at the end of the 2nd OT should have shut everyone up about who touches the ball
Westbrook turned the ball over a bunch late in game 3.

if he was getting fouled that often, he should have kept doing what was working, and not settling for long jumpers (he wasn't hitting)

not if KD isn't getting himself open

because the team NEEDS him shooting and scoring

and durant missed pretty much every one of his shots

What you said is 100% correct, but the the reason is fairly obvious, Durant isn't getting open.
They should have had Durant bringing the ball up in crunch time and running the offense through him. Not trying to find him once they crossed half court and ran off half the shot clock. The defense has the advantage in that situation. He would have scored or found an open shot for someone else. When OKC needed the dagger to end the 3rd overtime he got it. Westbrook can score but Durant is more clutch than him, it's always been that way. Scott Brooks needs to put the ball in KD's hands at crunch time. Not try to find him off screens once they cross half court.
