Do you blame them?
I blame Les, and his staff. The day the mach-up was announced he should have told them he didn't want to hear one comment about it. He should have talked about the talent on the team, and the legacy they would leave with a win. It was time to take it up a level, and he let them crater.

A good high school coach would know he couldn't let his team dwell on a decision they had no control over. Nut up and play!

What makes you think that the LSU team that showed up in the Superdome that day would have done anything

I've often thought this as well.
Would have been zero doubt LSU would have been overconfident.
They certainly were against Bama and it showed, by virtually never crossing midfield and getting shut out.
Shut out...
There is no way you can honestly say, with full confidence, that a team otherwise would have beaten the 3rd best team in the nation that night.
We are talking a Les Miles team here.

I think just the opposite about LSU’s approach to that game. It’s common knowledge that there was locker room drama prior to kickoff and I still remember thinking the players looked like they were in a daze when they were shown warming up before the game. That game was lost before it even started. I don’t think that would have been the case if we did not have a bs rematch against Bama.

You think LSU was OVERconfident going into the Bama rematch? That's preposterous.

They were uncertain, scared, and had zero confidence whatsoever going into that game.

There's no reason camera replay can't extend the goal posts up and tell us if kicks are 100% good or not. They can make tennis balls paint the line in replays or have perfect strike zones but they can't do that? Not buying it. Make it happen

No, they didn't.

The ball has to be completely inside the upright.

I would hope the frick not, considering all this "rematch" crap started to favor you.

At least in this instance, but Bama and UGA played the same amount of games as well.

How many times has Bama got to sit at home while other teams played extra games? Two? Three?

I know you know there's a difference, but you have to play coy when the entire system is set up to benefit you completely.

LOL. The same Les Miles team that beat Bama two years in a row? That Les Miles? The same Miles that should have won again in 2012, without their best player?

The Mulligan did exactly what it was supposed to do: rewrite history. It was successful.

You act as if LSU didn't beat a historical schedule, on the road mind you, in 2011. If they already beat every major BCS bowl winner that season, why wouldn't they have beaten Oklahoma State?!?!?

The "logic" here is amazing from you entitled fans.

I really don’t see much of a difference .

Comparing the SEC West to SEC East in any year the past decade is idiotic. In 2011 you could make the argument that the 3 best teams in the country were in the SEC West. Going into the playoffs last year, Georgia played exactly 1 team that finished in the Top-15 and they got beat by 17 in their back yard.

Just get the frick over it. LSU has nobody to blame for 21-0 but themselves. I could make the exact same “it’s not fair!” argument as you but I refuse to cry when the post season system did exactly what it’s supposed to do. Put the best ____ teams in

Yet multiple LSU starters were supposedly at Harrah’s at 2am the day of the game

With all that is currently going on in this country, THAT is what really upsets you?

Well, of course you don't. Your program is entitled to be in it no matter what. Finishing third in the conference and sitting at home while other teams play conference championship games and eliminate themselves benefited you more than once. But, nope, no difference there LOLOLOL

I've been over it. 2011 ultimately ruined the entire sport going forward. NIL will be the final nail in the coffin. Your program will continue to dominate, along with maybe 2-3 others, which is what the group that runs the sport wants. You will continue to have your cake and eat it too. More power to you and congrats!

ama literally just lost out on a national championship because a team they beat earlier in the year got in. Hell Bama beat them by 17 in what was basically a road game. Yet not a single Bama fan complained about the rematch

That is no where close to a road game for Bama

It was at very best 80-20 UGA fans. I was sitting in TidePride seats and my section was half Georgia people

Ever since the Tide were in the first SECCG they have held on to a large number of game tix. Blame your fellow Bama fans if the numbers were that high because they sold them to UGA fans.

Ok that’s great and all, as long as we both admit that the game was basically a road atmosphere for Bama

Meh. If 2011 happens, 2019 probably doesn't. Call it a draw.

If Les wins that championship, it likely alters the timeline on his departure from BR and means Burrow doesn't come to BR.

If lsu wins that title game, instead of being embarrassed....our recruiting wouldn't have tanked. We would have been better off the years after. Instead, we got laughed at and never recovered
