Yeah, I believe it will keep Ohio State from a BCS bowl next season. The defense will be stout and the offense will be much improved. Plus Michigan and Nebraska are at home.

Like Sprint said, it sucks for next years seniors who had nothing to do with this mess.

There's not one LSU fan on this board that would think they got a slap on the wrist if it were them instead of Ohio State. Fact

Agreed. Just a matter of where you are in the situation. I think we got what we deserved. I can see where others think we deserved more, but I don't think it's a slap on the wrist either.

Id be fine with with no bowl band and double the scholarship reductions.

18 scholarships?

What's the total scholarship loss? aren't they taking away additional schollies?

I'm pretty sure the only teams to get bowl bans in the past were hit with LOIC. No team hit with FTM has ever received a bowl ban until now.

OSU will be fine. that's not that bad and the bowl ban isn't that big of a deal.

I think youve still got some of that Urban sunshine in your eyes. Its not gonna be the smooth transition that all OSU fans expect. Look at his first year at UF. That team had more talent than next years OSU will.

I read it as 17 total. 12 by the NCAA plus the 5 self-imposed by OSU. Am I wrong?

You may be right. It's officially a rebuilding year now anyway.

I said the same thing, but people are freaking out on twitter.

My biggest thing is that our team MVP Boom Herron was allowed to play in four bowl games. SMH

17 according to ESPN article:

"The Dispatch also reported that Ohio State will lose four additional scholarships per year for the next three years. That's on top of the loss of five scholarships the school self-imposed. The NCAA also added a year of probation, meaning Ohio State will be subject to stiffer penalties for any repeated violations through the 2013 season."
