USC committed 30 violations across multiple sports. OSU committed 6. To compare the two is fricking laughable.

The football penalty (2 year ban; 3 years and 30 scholies) was just for the football (Bush transgression) - stop acting like USC Football got hammered because of OJ Mayo or Tennis...basketball/tennis had their own sanctions!

The door was opened by LOIC from all the sports. That's why the penalties were so high (which I don't agree with BTW).

What a joke and slap on the wrist for OSU. Tatoo parlor owner had 3 fricking storage units filled with signed memorabilia signed by players.

NCAA should be thoroughly embarassed for this light "punishment"

this has probably been discussed, but was it possible for OSU to take the bowl ban this year and avoid it for next season?... probably no way to know for sure, i guess.

USC scholarship sanctions begin this year, due to their appeals of the 30 scholarship sanctions(10 per year). They won't be top 5 this year.

Well either way, Gene Smith looks like an idiot for saying that he didn't expect a bowl ban and for pre-accepting an invitation to the gator bowl.

It would have been possible for sure for us to self-impose a bowl ban for this year to try and avoid a 2012 bowl ban.

It would have been smart. We are 6-6, so why not at least try.

You keep saying this, but there is absolutely no proof that Auburn did anything wrong.

Since when has the NCAA needed 100% proof?

They are not the law.

It is just pretty evident about what really happened, and nothing is coming from it. That just irks me, especially when people come on here and talk about how the NCAA is coddling the Big Ten.

I definitely cannot say that they don't favor the Big Ten, but for SEC fans to be saying that the SEC doesn't get fair treatment is a joke to me.

Obviously I am in the wrong place to be trying to convince people other wise.

You don't need to be very smart to realize that is Cam's dad was shopping Cam to MSU for 180 grand, you can be damn sure that he was shopping him to Auburn as well.

Truth !!! NCAA allowed Auburn a NC. It happens in Alabama. More shite goes down than the average fan will ever know.
