BCS revenue is shared equally through the conference. So each B1G team made that for the Sugar Bowl.

I always thought the school who earned the BCS bid got a double share? Or does that differ from conference to conference?

Each conference has its own rules on distribution of bowl money.

since both Arkansas & Ohio State weren't automatic the payout wasn't as high, this year the other ACC schools will make $375K for VA Tech's selection

just a little...this will sting the seniors next year a lot more, but I doubt it has too much affect on incoming players.

Lane Kiffin put together back to back top 5 classes with a two year bowl ban and the loss of 30 scholarships hanging over his head. Our sanctions aren't nearly as bad, so I wouldn't write of this years recruiting class yet.

Whats the deal with the booster 10 year thing? Athletes cant go anyplace where boosters are? That may hurt recruiting more so than the bowl ban at OSU.

I'm pretty sure the only teams to get bowl bans in the past were hit with LOIC. No team hit with FTM has ever received a bowl ban until now.

Alabama received a 2 year bowl ban without a LOIC charge in the early 00s. In fact, Alabama in the mid 90s lost 21 scholarships, a bowl ban, and a lack of institutional control charge over ONE player over a single player received $400 cash from an agent after the Sugar Bowl. Like tOSU, Alabama did not properly handle Langham's eligibility and ended up being slammed for it. Unlike tOSU, an Alabama official(s) didn't blatantly and repeatedly lie to impede the NCAA investigation.

NCAA justice is WILDLY inconsistent as the breadth of the USC and the mid 90s Alabama cases didn't involve anywhere close to as many players as the tOSU case did yet both schools had the book thrown at them while the tOSU was let off easy. Disgusting, but predictable given the sacred cow status the B1G has with the NCAA.

I was just trying to point out that a one year bowl ban isn't going to run off this entire recruiting class.

No, it's a specific Cleveland area booster I believe.

Should have been worse but it is what it is at this point. But OSU got off easy.

My whole problem lies right here. There should be a uniform code set and no wavering. Not case by case because of the inconsistencies...

Show a similar case to OSU and their punishment, thanks.

OSU got Failure to Monitor and is the first ever to get a post season ban with that charge, so where's the consistency?

Who decided that? That's my point, with what was proven true it should be LOIC and an automatic set of ramifications. Not just in this case but in all cases where player(s) are proven to take benefits with the university's knowledge. There is no excuse for the school/coach/dean/AD etc not doing the right thing and the penalty should show.

That's the whole point. You are bias and that's understandable but from the outside with no dog in the fight, you got off easy.

Now I am going to tell you to GTFO. Reggie Bush took benefits without anyone's knowledge and USC got hammered. Your school covered the shite up which is a million times worse and got less. Take off the glasses, say y'all got lucky and move on. My God.

USC committed 30 violations across multiple sports. OSU committed 6. To compare the two is fricking laughable.
