They are banned from the CCG & Bowl Game next season,
That's what i said jackass. The dude asked if we would still have a chance to play in CCG and I said it wasn't just a bowl ban, but a postseason ban. Post season = CCG + bowl.
Read.

id like to see the actual findings but from what i/we know publicly yes that seems a tad extreme to me; scholly ban was a sufficient punishment.

Should have taken that bowl hit this year with 6-6 record

Really don't think it will be a negative for recruiting at all. Only matters for these guys' freshman seasons, when many would get limited PT anyway.
People are going to say this isn't that harsh, but if you look at what was handed down through the whole process (not just today, but going back months) I think OSU got hit pretty good. The Bucks lost one of the top coaches in CFB (I know you disagree rocket
). Yes, the Bucks got Meyer, but it's not like that was known/anticipated when Tress was let go. The 2010 season was vacated, the 2011 season was a disaster due to the coaching change/suspensions, and the 2012 season will now basically be worthless. Essentially, three seasons were completely ruined (only two in practical terms, one just by vacated standards) because some guys sold memorabilia and the head coach (who was fired) did not report it and then lied about it (not like there was direct involvement/payment from the athletic department itself). Plus, the probation and scholly reductions.

Yep....completely mishandled AGAIN by Gene Smith

Its actually a post season ban, not a bowl ban. So they won't be playing in the CCG.
WRONG
They are banned from the CCG & Bowl Game next season, and will lose 9 schollys over the next 3 years.
How is that at all WRONG?
Nice fail.

OSU, while I have nothing against them at all, gets a fricking slap on the wrist compared to the absolutely ridiculous sanctions we got. And people still think that the ncaa didn't have an absolutely transparent agenda against us? The situations are far different.
Yes, the situation is much more blatant and severe in the Buckeye's case.

I interpreted as you saying it wasn't a bowl ban, just a CCG ban.
Comprehension fail...my apologies

Really?
We actually cooperated with the NCAA. We self-imposed sanctions. We essentially fired one of the best coaches in the nation that was the biggest root of the problem. All players involved got significant suspensions. We didn't fight tooth and nail with the NCAA over paying for a star player's family's crib in San Diego and claim innocence.
Posted on 12/20/11 at 1:27 pm to KillerNut9
You claimed innocence until you couldn't anymore. To say that OSU's athletic department was helpful is a bit of a stretch.

Do you not remember OSU lying to the NCAA to get the tat 5 eligible for the Sugar Bowl?

i agree to an extent. i think its worthless if you were expecting to be in the national champ game or at least a BCS bowl.

this isnt really going to hurt anything unless yall frick up again

I remember Tressel lying.

@CharlesRobinson: Key witness refused to cooperate w/ NCAA's Ohio State probe. Had he taken part, sanctions could have been far worse.
Good thing Pryor kept his mouth shut.
Tressell = OSU Football

Refusing to talk isn't lying. And TP doesn't equal OSU. You're playing it off like the entire administration lied.

Thing that really sucks in all of this is that the players and coach involved are out the door when we have to pay the price. Really sucks for next year's seniors who did nothing wrong. It's a major flaw in the NCAA penal system.
Posted on 12/20/11 at 1:40 pm to KillerNut9
Im not saying TP lied or is OSU football. The two comments I made were unrelated.
Tressell lied and Tressell = OSU football.
