And everyone saying that its just an easy win for the sec, we beat the second best SEC team last year in the sugar bowl with better talent. Yeah I understand that 5 of those players on the field should not have been playing, but they did and Ohio State won.

As punishment we should have to keep Bollman on staff.

Or give Bauserman another year of eligibility.

I guess the NCAA is releasing the sanctions to the media at 2 and asking them not to officially release the sanctions until 3. Yeah fricking right.

They truly are retarded.

No one outside of Ohio State cares about the non-factor that is Ohio State. Sure, it's nice to know you're guaranteed an easy win in the championship game, but there are other teams who can fill that whipping boy role.

Ohio state did get punished big already though. Losing major starters and a decade long head coach cost them any chance at a national championship and severely hindered any chance for a big ten title. The money that those tattoos cost was about $500-$800 dollars per player, which is very small considering how much money these players bring in to the university. For the players themselves, it impacts their draft status because they are unable to develop their game further. The one guy who covered it all up is now gone, and we are talking about a legend at Ohio state, and when you compare it to what other universities have done recently, the Ohio state stuff looks absolutely minuscule. And these guys didn't even commit a crime! Do LSU fans really have reason to talk when you have your own players getting arrested for assault? Spare me!

You keep saying this, but there is absolutely no proof that Auburn did anything wrong.

whatever happens with this today, I assure you Tangerine is going to lose his mind due to the sanctions being unfair compared to USCw

Ive said it before, but Lane Kiffen should sign a full class next year and tell the NCAA to do something about it.

Considering that the LSU players in question were released without charges, yes.
That being said, I wish tOSU the best of luck, and always have.

one year bowl ban

quote:
In its ruling to be made public this afternoon, the NCAA Committee of Infractions will levy the bowl ban and two other penalties on top of the ones the university already imposed on itself, the sources said. The NCAA will:
* Strip four more football scholarships over the next three years on top of Ohio State’s prior forfeiture of five scholarships over that span.
* Add an additional year of probation to OSU’s self-imposed two-year probation for the football program, meaning any violations through the 2013 season could draw harsher-than-normal penalties.
The NCAA also will hand a show-cause penalty to former head coach Jim Tressel for failing to report that some team members improperly sold memorabilia and for allowing ineligible players to compete throughout the 2010 season.
