on the pga tour, wins matter. they are so difficult to come by and can change a professional's life. they are extremely important.

Tiger could win one tourney, but go 0-4 in majors and you'd still think he's deserving of a POY award.

yes he deserves it unless someone wins 2 majors. 5 wins in one year is a crazy good. like i said only three other people have done it in the last 30 years. 1 major and no other wins happens just about every year. 5 wins is more impressive. especially when one is a world golf championship.

Winning 5 tourneys is crazy good but missing the cut in 2 majors is crazy bad.

in 2003, tiger had 5 wins and 0 majors......won Tour POY and PGA POY. had only 1 top 10 in major.

Yeah, it should be Lucas Glover. He didn't even play in the Masters, missed the cut at the British Open, but he won the US Open so he should get it instead of Tiger. 1 win, 4 top 10s, and 4 missed cuts in 20 tourneys = POY
Maybe Stewart Cink. Even though he missed the cut at The Masters and only has 2 other Top 10 finishes besides the Open. 1 win, 3 Top 10s, and 4 missed cuts in 17 tourneys = POY
Or how about Angel Cabrera. Lets just ignore the fact that he has a grand total of TWO Top 10 finishes this year and tore up Bethpage with a spectacular +14. So 1 win, 2 Top 10s, and 5 missed cuts in 12 tourneys = POY
