He had him basically swinging around his body, instead of a more natural upright swing plane. Now some of it was because Tiger wanted to develop a swing to protect his left knee.

Protecting his knee seems to be his biggest focus now too. That's why I think it's kinda dumb for all these analysts to get on TV and tell Tiger to forget about his swing and just go play golf. I get what they're saying, but if Tiger doesn't build a swing to protect that knee, he'll really be done.

according to who's standards? he had a near perfect one plain swing for a while their, and transitioned into a near perfect two plane swing...

Alot of the golfers and swing coaches said that is swing was too flat with Haney which led to much of his awful driving.
ETA: He also had a lag in his swing, his tempo is much better now, not that his swing is better persay. IMO he needs to go back to Butch, but that will never happen.

as a two plane yea, but the one plane it was just fine...but he can do whatever he wants to if he thinks its gonna improve. I still think his one plane swing was the best.

Wasn't Tiger 9th in the tour in total driving his last year with Haney?
A lot of great players struggle with the driver. I think Tiger's issues with it are always exaggerated due to his lofty standards.
Either way, changing coaches puts you behind the 8ball for a few years until the old habits wash away.
Tiger is still doing Haney shite mixed with Foley shite - it will take time.

Tiger's struggled with the driver since he turned pro. He's certainly hitting it straighter than he did in 1998.
As I've said previously Tiger doesn't have the short game he had in 1998. He could get it up and down from just about anywhere and I rarely remember him missing a meaningful putt. I wonder how much of his short game decline relates to the fact that he's now 35?

Yeah, but they aren't flying that bunker landing the ball 311 and ending up with a 380 yard drive.
