I don't think I've ever won a bet when backing Purdue. They should have been on my list a long time ago. Now they are.

It moved back to 14 now. I wanted it at 14.5 this sucks. Anyone think it'll move back?

I see a lot of people wanting to take V tech and the points. Is there anybody taking Ohio St and why?

I'm leaning Ohio state. Mainly because urban Myers hasn't forgotten the loss from last year. I just feel like osu is going to have it all together and stomp VA tech.

This is one of osu few real games to play. They will be ready

I'm not, but I can tell you why someone would. If Ohio St picks up where they left off last year, and there's little reason to think they won't, they will be an offensive machine. They scored 40+ points in 11 out of their 15 games last season. VTech's offense consistently fluttered (12th in scoring in the ACC). VTech scored 6 points against Miami and 3 @ Wake Forest. If Ohio State doesn't lose the turnover battle and doesn't give up any big plays on special teams, they could win this game something like 35-17, or even better.

The reason I'm not hopping on OSU -14.5 is that is just such a big spread against a good defense on the road with a hostile environment in an opener.

Northwestern +11 W
Penn St -6.5 L(knew line was a trap as I stated multiple times in this thread)(free play)
BYU +7 W (free play)
Minnesota +17 W

Virginia Tech +14.5 to close out the week. My super square friend swears Ohio State will roll them. He is so confident which makes me feel great about this one.

When are the week 2 sheets coming out? Really helped with games I was on the fence. I went 6-3, thank goodness for Marshall pick 6!!

Huge on the Metropolitans (Neise) at Washington (Scherzer) today with INSANE +195 odds.

Huge on the Twins (Millone) at Royals (Ventura) tonight with INSANE +175 odds

Also have Ohio St. to round out one of the teasers I posted earlier. Nobody made as much money as I did in CFB week 1 (correctly and publicly nailing a $500 Hawaii Moneyline pay, hitting all but one of my other CFB plays), I look forward to sharing more of my picks and profits with my TD mates this week.

Right now I am trying to figure out the proper weights.

Going into Week 1 the weights are 100% preseason 0% actual season results, obviously

Starting Week 8 I drop the preseason rantings from the formula entirely

So the challenge is to figure out how much weight to give preseason numbers and how much weight to give actual season result numbers between Weeks 2-7.

What I have done is just use a sliding scale - Going into Week 2 its 6/7 preseason, 1/7 actual, then going into Week 3 its 5/7 preseason, 2/7 actual, but even then there are some issues.

Illinois right now is a good example. They jumped from #60 preseason rank to #43 post Week 1 rank simply for killing Kent State. Now my system does adjust results for the strength of the opponent but their dominating performance helped them. I feel like even though the Kent State game is only 1/7 of their number right now that is still too much.

On the flipside you have teams who were expected to suck and exceeded expectations. Like UTSA. They were #112 in my preseason rank, played well against Arizona and now are at #94.

I am trying to find that right balance.

The same challenge exists for national averages. Since Week 1 has so many good teams playing bad teams at home, the home advantage averages are skewed heavily toward the home team to where when I ran my first simulation of Oklahoma-Tennessee it had Tennessee winning by 20.
