Tebow opened many more eyes during batting practice, his display taking aback several of the estimated 40 scouts in attendance. "That was big power," one scout said. "He was mis-hitting the ball out of the park."
quote:
One scout graded Tebow's arm a 45 on the 20 to 80 scouting scale; 50 is considered average, 45 slightly below average. Another scout noted that Tebow's throws had "a little arc, but just fair carry. There is some strength."
Tebow caught every catchable ball, chasing down balls in and out of play without incident. A third scout was slightly more bullish watching him in center field, grading him a 50 defender. "A playable, serviceable defender," the scout said.

Maybe the Rays will pick him up and he'll come to monkeytown.

Tim Tebow's representative says there's 5-6 MLB teams that have expressed some sort of interest in signing him

I hope some of you in this thread understand what this man just did today. For the idiots who don't have a clue , he fricking killed it. This would have a been a great workout for a 18-22 year old kid that has played consistently for years let alone a 30 year old retired NFL QB. I'm shocked! I was pulling for the guy (How can you not pull for Tebow no matter what it is he's doing?!?!) but I had no idea he show out like he did. It wouldn't surprise me if he plays in the big leagues for a couple years. I'm not saying he will a too player but serviceable? Yeah , I now believe he could be . Wow! Just Wow!

frick Tebow. The cocksucker was 3-1 against LSU. I'm always going to root against him.
frick ESPN for shoving this down our throats.
frick Skip Bayless for existing.

45 arm and 50 defense. Not bad at all.

Plus they make it seem like he has power that grades out to a 55. Looks like he has a chance

The next step is to refuse to play for any league that isn't the MLB. No minor league is good enough for the teebs.

His arm will probably get a bit better as he gets stretched out. He has to be too big right now, doesn't he? Lose some mass and get his mechanics right and he could have an average arm.
Hitting will be tough. I think it'd be awesome if he made it. He's a loooooong way from that, though.

You are a loser to root against someone trying to succeed in life because they beat your favorite college team 10 years ago

Holy shite, you sound like a big twink for Tebow. Christ, man

Tebow is a great athlete...we saw that at Florida.
But he's not special.
He's not remotely close to Bo or Deion.
He can't cross-over. Reminds me of the Jarryd Hayne story from Oz.
He dominated Rugby and hadn't really played football and after a year, he's back in Rugby.
Talent only takes you so far...you have to immerse yourself in the sport for years...everyone is too good in the NFL and too good in MLB...there's not much separation...except total dedication and playing the sport all your life.

This guy could've played in MLB...because he never stopped playing in college while Quarterbacking.
Fresh off his first of two Pac-10 Football Player of the Year awards, Elway batted .361 with nine homers, 15 doubles, 50 RBIs and 47 runs scored. And there was always that rocket arm, the stories of which feel like tall tales of a baseball Paul Bunyan.
In his final college baseball season, Elway helped lead Stanford to the NCAA Regionals, where he batted .444.
"George Steinbrenner was enamored with John," Yankees scout Gary Hughes told ESPN in 2013. "'We've got to have this guy. He's going to be great. He's going to be a Yankee.'"
Did Tebow ever play baseball for Florida?

Nope, he quit playing after his junior year in high school.
