Why are some here still asking why the cops were not told? This has been in front of a grand JURY ! The State AG, DA, Cops all knew ! And nothing was done ! That is what is pissing me off !

And again this is about the victims and the idiots that victimized them, not Penn State students and fans.

Way to go jackass - don't read and rant. And you wonder why Penn State students are supporting that old man. Look in the mirror lately???

I dont wonder anything. His supporters are part of a vocal minority. It's the idiots like you that paint people with a broad brush that should be looking in the mirror. Read back through my posting on this issue, it speaks for itself.

i wonder if any other schools fans would defend a coach like this. I dont think bama would defend saban if he pulled what joe ped protector pulled

I checked out PSU's scout board at lunch and I was surprised they were letting both sides argue their point and were only removing flamers, most board would have locked down. Don't know if it's changed since then or not, most of them were either defending JoPa or saying "lets hear both sides of the story first."

Funny you mention recruiting. An ESPN writer has already written an article questioning the effect this will have on recruiting.

Classless and tasteless. Nearly as bad as looking at who the death of an Alabama football player would benefit on the depth chart.

There were kids raped. I could give a goddamn about the effect on recruiting. The focus should be on the victims, not potential recruits.

Well said.

When shite of this magnitude happens, the football needs to take a back seat.

The first incident involved the cops in 1998. And the DA decided there wasn't enough to charge him.

The second incident involved a eye witness and was run up from the witness, to Joe Pa, to the Athletic Director (Curly) and a financial Business Advisor (Schultz), but never reached the cops.

That's why the AD and Business Advisor, along with lying in their testimony, have been charged as well.

Just saw on the bottom line on ESPN that the board of directors were in a conference call right now and meeting tomorrow. Looks like big changes are about to take place.

I hope so. This whole thing is just a festering mess right now.

There's a lot of people who don't know the proper protocol to follow in these types of situations. "Passing the buck", ignorance, denial, assumptions, disbelief, etc., and etc, should be factored in when asking why these things happen.

It's sad. It gets complicated when it shouldn't. It's an insidious evil.

By that, I mean "so much shite went on, how could he possibly remember all of it, let alone confess to it?"

you are right, but giving him a plea in exchange for getting a full confession is the only way to accurately gauge the true scope of this

Since this is the official thread, I guess this the spot where I weigh in with my opinion.

I cannot f'ing believe how any grown man can live with himself after witnessing firsthand or learning second or third hand that childrem were being abused AND NOT doing everything they possibly could stop it.

For all the legal bullshite that may allow some people to avoid prison, every person involved is responsible for the damage inflicted by this animal subsequent to them learning about Sandusky.

Is Sandusky in a padded room? Don't let that frick kill himself. That bag of shite should one day be placed in general population where he can receive the treatment that he deserves - every day for the rest of his miserable life.

frick JoPa, the PSU admins that covered this up and McQuery for not beating the shite out of Sandusky in 2002.

End rant.

Eh, football writers write about football. The PSU thing isn't necessarily a football story, its way more than that. There isn't rally anything wrong with looking at how this may affect the university as a whole and football is a part of it.

Yeah, no matter what your thoughts are on this matter, I think we can all agree that this could have been stopped years ago.

Only thing is I probably wouldn't have beat up Sandusky, just stopped the incident. Brought the child with me, and called the cops. Everyone wants to say they would have killed Sandusky, or beat him to shite. How's that helping the 10 year old standing there watching you, just more trips to the therapist.

This is the proper way to handle it. Some people are just internet tough guys claiming they would handle a situation in a way they really never would.

I hear you, and you are right about just getting the kid out of the situation.

Anyway, I know I added nothing new or truly valuable to the discussion.

Just sitting here in disbelief.
