Maybe Joe Pa thought he was cleared due to nothing coming of the allegation?

I guess he couldn't ask his recruiting coordinator and right hand man if maybe he mis-remembered seeing Sandusky sodomizing a child.

At the very least Mcqueary knew exactly what he saw and stood by while the sandursky continued to parade kids around the campus. He has no claim what so ever to ignorance.

I forgot to even touch on Mcqueary in my last post.

How the hell can you see a 60 someodd year old man having sex with a 10 year old in the shower and not confront him or go immediately to the police.

The grand jury report claims that he was shaken and called his daddy for advice. If he was so shaken by it, how does he continue to roam the sidelines and be a part of a workplace that quite obviously had no interest in holding Sandusky accountable for his crimes. Sandusky continued to come around the program, often times with young boys and McQueary continued to walk the sidelines every day of the week. If it was me, I would immediately remove myself from the likes of such scum and find another job.

I keep trying to imagine a scenario/defense where JoePa escapes this whole thing. Would a statement along the lines of "I went to the AD the first time I ever heard of this behavior and was told that law enforcement was already investigating him. AD did not want me implicated any further so he said to bring all notice of this behavior to him only..." suffice in somewhat clearing him??

I can't imagine him running out on the field Saturday and the reaction he and his players are going to get. He has to address this publicly before this weekend if he isn't stepping down before then.

On page 1, 16, 17 and here. Probably should be repeated occasionally though to keep everyone up to speed.

Yeah I knew you had gotten it posted a few times but I figured I'd follow it up. I'm just getting news as I can.

That is the thing. His own testimony shows he had enough knowledge to be roasted. Not to mention that it appears he has attempted to mitigate his responsibility by telling obvious lies about the extent of his knowledge.

We are not talking about hearing of an employee who may be selling drugs or stealing money. Children's lives were at stake

That's the problem with whole ordeal, everyone did nothing, that instance never reached the police or the DA. They even still let him use the facilities, which he still used later to molest kids. Unbelievable.

The only thing that would make sense is if he was directly told to not talk about this since nothing was going to be done anyway.

Millen is crying now. This makes him more human than Paterno.

Who is to say that Paterno didn't address the issue of him showing up a practice with a child of making sure it doesn't happen again. I don't know. Too many sides of this i'd like to hear.

Somebody mentioned this scenario:

1. The GA tells Paterno about it (which we have all been told happened).

2. Paterno takes the information and informs the AD (which we have all been told happened). The AD then tells Joe that he will take it to the President and they will initiate an investigation.

3. A couple of days, weeks or months go by and Paterno inquires to the AD about what was happening. The AD lies and tells him that the University has notified the authorities and that they are cooperating with them in a criminal investigation and that he should stay out of it at that point unless asked by the authorities to participate.

? I need to hear more.

No not at all. He was given too much access which should never been given in the first place. It's like letting your married partner share an email together. Nothing ever good comes out of that. Ever.

The issue isn't him on the sidelines with the kids. It is what he was doing with the kids in other places that Joe knew about. And the DA and subsequent victims have said that he didn't sufficiently address the issue.

So it took Paterno 5 years to put a stop to it? I can't buy it. Sandusky was present at the football facility just last week.

Best case scenario and not enough IMO. Also, still doesn't resolve the McQueary issue. He saw it first hand with the kids hands against a shower wall being raped by 60 year old man.
