He would just do so much "goofy" stuff (Golf Boys, HoverCart, all that Bubba shite) that would make headlines people would read. Only people who watched most tour events saw him whining and how he acted on the course.

This. Although there was a little stretch leading up to his 1st win and shortly after where it looked like he changed and really was going to be a guy you could root for. Now I think he's pretty much been exposed

Early on, yea, he was. I remember him getting into it with Steve Elkington at the Zurich Classic years ago. But, as mentioned above, it really did look like he changed his ways after Ted had that come to Jesus with him. Then he went on to win in Hartford, NOLA, and Augusta, and he was really likeable to most people. After his first Masters win, he returned to his roots.

Dufner withdraws....his neck must feel pretty bad. I've had herniated discs in my neck and it's not a pretty sight...
