Hamilton is going to sign Texas for close to or more than 100 million

If Hamilton comes back to the Rangers, it'll be a deal like that. Shorter term, closer to 100 million. Nowhere near the A-Rod like money being discussed earlier.

5 year, $90 million? Rangers would jump at that.

Bauer not only young #Diamondbacks pitcher drawing interest. Teams also asking about Skaggs. Believed to be #Indians target for A. Cabrera.

Don't finish in first place, trade your best player. Sounds like a good strategy.

I do not think he gets a guaranteed 5 years. Maybe an option for a 5th year, but that's it.

And I believe he wants an AAV of $20million+.

I'm thinking 4 years 95 million with 5th option that would make total deal like 110-115

Could be good news for the Rangers about Greinke if the Dodgers are looking at trades.

Or the Dodgers could be crazy.

When you have a ton of holes and a guy that can bring some plugs to those holes via trade, you do it. They have some solid pitching prospects but NOTHING in the lineup. Ackley? Montero? Come on...

Trade him for pieces to become a better overall team. Look at Felixs w-l record. He's a top 5 pitcher with NO team around him. They would free up a good bit of money and be able to build a complete team. Not a shite squad with a star.

Yanks f-ed up sending Montero there for that reliever. Should have gotten Lee when they had the chance

While the Yankees have at least touched base with free agent Kevin Youkilis, Jeff Keppinger appears to be their primary target at the moment. Yahoo! Sports’ Jeff Passan reports that the two sides met yesterday and that the Bombers’ interest in Keppinger is “very strong.”
Update: FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal reports that the price for Keppinger is now $8 million for two years. That will give the Yankees pause, considering that their aim is to reduce payroll for 2014.

Like I said earlier, supposedly Daniels has offered anyone from their farm for Felix and in 2010 when he traded for Lee, he started off the conversation about what it would take to get Felix. And every time, the Seattle GM refuses.

It would take a Mark Texiera type trade and than some to pry him from Seattle.

In the last month, the Red Sox have committed multiyear deals to Victorino, Mike Napoli, Jonny Gomes and David Ross to the tune of $34 million per season. They’re probably going to spend another $12 million or so on a starting pitcher from the Ryan Dempster genre. That they’re making the team better is a given. That they’re making it better enough to actually go anywhere in 2013 seems pretty unlikely.

10 clubs. All are teams you would expect to be contenders for him.

So you plug a hole and create a MASSIVE one in it's place, great. Not one of the Mariners pitching prospects will start the year in the majors and they have just as many hitting prospects now.

And Ackley and Montero were top 5 prospects and look where they are now. There are no guarantees with prospects, why trade a 26 year old ace with no injury problems who has professed a desire to stay for an unknown? It's silly that other fans can't see this.

The Mariners have plenty of money and Felix is their only long term cost. Having Felix on the team isn't stopping them from doing anything.
