Yanks f-ed up sending Montero there for that reliever. Should have gotten Lee when they had the chance

Pineda? Starter. Montero didn't have a spot in the lineup in NY. I don't love the trade, but I'm reserving judgement until pineda pitches in pinstripes.

So you plug a hole and create a MASSIVE one in it's place, great. Not one of the Mariners pitching prospects will start the year in the majors and they have just as many hitting prospects now.

You plug holes. Plural. Felix throws ~30 games a year. The lineup sucks arse for 162. Montero and the others are still green. You won't get a team by trading Felix, but you get potential in lots of different areas.

I hear that but to not pull the trigger on Lee over Montero only to do that trade for a Scumbag Dominy Fat arse is just an injustice.

How has cashman not been fired yet by the new regime?

I guess pulling that move with Crawford on the BoSox gets you a few more years

AJ would be the most Yankees catcher ever.

I'm not sure what the Red Sox are doing. They are spending a lot money to build what looks to be a 500 team. What's the old adage, "it's never the price of talent, it's the price of mediocrity."

Yankees grab Chavez/Keppinger/AJ/Ibanez and then make a run at another pitcher

Red Sox

I think this is their backup plan. It looks like they are going to miss out on both Greinke and Hamilton, and I had Boston as a frontrunner for both of them.

These are players you sign if your team is a contender or close to one, and Boston is neither at the time.

It makes zero sense to me.

Montero was a luxury for NY. Lee was a soon-to-be FA and Pineda showed promise AND is under team control for 5 more years. Hindsight is 20/20 with the injury, but it was a pretty solid deal.

I doubt Yankees get serious about any starter with CC, Pettite, Hughes, Nova, and Kuroda in fold and Phelps/Garcia waiting. Maybe bring Lowe back as long relief

If any team signs him to a max deal it will be the Dodgers, because no team is stupid enough to do that.

I have him getting a contract for around 5-6 years at $150million, unless something fricky happens.
