Shelby Miller. Oscar Taveres. Zach Cox. Matt Adams. Rosenthal. Sit tight bub!

We will see. I would really like to keep Rosenthal.

Eta: and Taveras for that matter. Have only heard GREAT things about him.

Hamilton had a bad 2 months. He sucks now.

Honestly, as crazy as this sounds, it's not about baseball ability to me. He's a great talent, no doubt.

But he is a headcase, he has weird injuries, he is always hurt, he is not really respected in the locker room, he is lazy in the field and he doesn't play hard 90% of the time.

I make no apologies for not wanting the guy on my ballclub.

Nobody knows what Profar is.

Sure, but he is one of the best prospects in baseball. And all he has to do is replace this level of production:

286/349/378 (91 OPS+)

And that was a career year for Elvis. I think he's only going to get better, but I think this is one of those moves you make to make the team better (and offset the near certain loss of Hamilton).

You sound like a tard. If you trade Felix you spend the next ten years looking for another Felix. He's not going to walk as a FA any time soon.

Felix wants to win as a Mariner, if the next 4-5 years don't work out he might change his tune. Texas and St Louis definitely had the pieces to make things interesting for Seattle.

I think this was true for a while but he's hinted at leaving a time or two in the past year. I don't think he'll extend unless Seattle turns it around. If he hits FA, it's over. You can tell he's getting bored.

Profar's O will be as good as Andrus's right away.

Andrus is the much better fielder right now, but gap could shorten moving forward.

So you spend 20+ million a year for one player when your entire roster is shite? He could bring enough of a haul to make them competitive.

UPDATE: Alex Speier of WEEI.com says it’s a done deal. Boston has agreed to a three-year contract with Victorino.

==========

Just a few hours after Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com called the Indians “a prime suitor” for Shane Victorino, Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox are “frontrunners” for Victorino by making him a three-year, $38 million offer.

Miller, Taveras, Adams, Rosenthal are all primed to be studs.

I think they traded Cox anyway.

And keeping Felix gets them second to last instead of last place

Sounds like a great idea to keep the guy

according to CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman, it’s not all about power with the Mariners: they’re interested in Michael Bourn and are currently meeting with his agent, Scott Boras.

Also close to signing Jason Bay

Supposedly, Hamilton will not sign with Seattle, even if they offer largest contract.
