5A Seeds

4A Seeds

3A Seeds

2A Seeds

1A Seeds

B Seeds

C Seeds

So why not combine B and C so they're the same size as every other class? In fact they'd still be 9-10 schools smaller.

Because the smallest C schools shouldn't have to compete against damn near 2A...

The bottom of 5A and the top is a MUCH bigger gap.

It is, but all of those schools should have enough kids to compete... the C schools struggle to field a full 9

Yup I've seen them play a handful of games this year and all of the games last year when my brothers were seniors.

They won't stand out in any area besides having a legit top of the rotation guy (but what big 5A team doesn't) but they are deep. 1-9 in the lineup can at least hold their own and they play above average defense. We'll see if their senior talent can overcome below average coaching. In the playoffs, it usually doesn't. And that's what causes them to exit early most seasons despite pretty good talent.

There are a lot of Class C schools that play basketball and not baseball. The Class C bracket has always looked like this.

They are splitting the baseball schools up next year from public and private right? They might need to combine next year.

Barbe isn't very good this year. I don't see them making it to the final 4

Depends on which Class C school it is. Some C schools do struggle to field a team while others will have so many players go out for the team that they will have to cut several players. I remember a number of years ago Class B Oak Hill struggled to field 9 players. They had a great team too. I want to say it was so bad they had a girl starting for them with nobody on the bench. She was not very good and they still won state that year.

Just looking at the Class B seedings. The top 3 ranked schools in the state are in the same district.

1. Grace Christian
2. Glenmora
3. Avoyelles Public Charter)

The number 3 ranked team is Avoyelles Public Charter and they were district champs. They have the 2nd and 3rd place district teams ranked above them in the seedings even though they fnished below them in district.

They may not, but you don't win a District Title in a district that has 5 teams in the top 15 if you aren't very good. I'm willing to bet they're pretty damn good. Hell, 3-5A has 3 of the top 6 seeds.

You hit the nail on the head re: District 3-5A.

In baseball & football for the last 20 years, District 3-5A has been 1 of the most competitive & complete as well as FULL districts in the state. The name/number has fluctuated over the years but the make up of Lafayette, Acadiana, Carencro, Comeaux, NISH, Opelousas, Barbe, Sulphur, Lagrange, & Westage (counting drops/adds) is just brutal.

For a long stretch in the mid 90s - 2008'ish District 3-5A had to play 8 district football games every season & 16 for baseball (home/home). Simply vicious.

How does a school like Northside only play 13 games in a season?

So was breaking Parkview's 16 year consecutive district championship streak. Last time I checked Brusly had more wins than Parkview had games played as well.

had help from WF and U-high as well.... and the streak was actually broken - before - PBS played brusly - just nobody knew yet...

streak wasn't broken by one game kemosabe....

congrats to WF and Brusly on the district title.

What do you think panther's record vs... OC(not Opelousas Catholic), Hahnville, Destrehan, Dutchtown, Airline, Tioga, Curtis, Blessed Trinity, TC, St Mikes, St Amant(with enlow on bump), benton, Notre Dame, Holy Cross.....instead of ...Dunham, Episcopal, The other OC,
catholic pointe cC, Beau Chene, jennings, port barre, st james, morgan city, AC, Terrebone and ac..... all the while losing two senior starters...

They got bounced in the first round last year I believe. Tough draw. That kid can flat out dominate.
