I also believe that Vermillion Catholic and Haynesville are using the playoffs as a coronation in Divison IV and 1A respectively.

Acadiana is not beating Barbe again

By field pass do you mean just heading to the sideline and shooting the poop around the 20? Haha

Destrehan/Acadiana next week will be the de facto 5A state championship, provided they get there. The other half of the bracket is blown up, and Parkway will have to go to EBR twice to get to the Dome.
I'm not so sure Acadiana wins this time. They will have to play great defense and they will have to hold on to the ball. If the younger Eugene is out, I don't see them winning. They have had trouble with passing teams this year and I don't look for that to change. I hope I am wrong but I wouldn't count barbe out. They are still an excellent team.

How good is covington?
Ponchatoula beat them 33-24. Acadiana beat ponchatoula 49-7, and it was actually worse than the score indicates. Whoever comes out of that top bracket it's going to earn it. That bottom bracket looks like a cakewalk compared to barbe, Acadiana and desty.

Agreed which is why I wasn't upset with a 14 point loss early. A complete arse whooping later would've been worse. Don't look past Parkway, Harris is legit.

Byrd has it's best shot in years. Let's get this shite done. Jackets- 2013 State champs. Book it.

We knew that would be the last 4 since last year though. 3 of those teams were in the 2a semis last year. The other one that was in the semis may win 2a this year.
the pios were awfully good..... very physical....

If they could hold Quinn to half of what he had last time, they will win. And it wouldn't be close. With that being said, it's easier said than done.
Eta: I still think Quinn goes off though. Personally I'm ready to see him in p & g

The matchups in D2 are turning out exactly as I pictured.

I'd LOVE for Byrd to win it all. For one they have a great program. Two, it would be hillarious for the Catholic league to STILL not win after essentially having their own division.

To be fair, they weren't the ones advocating for it.

Publicly...some people I respect say they were behind it to start with because they didn't want Curtis in their district. In class begat the ultimate split.

Without Destrehan's forfeit they more than likely would not be on same side of bracket with Barbe and Acadiana.

The Division I bracket is the most asinine thing I've ever seen in bracketology.
6 of 10 teams get first round byes??
I have no idea why they just didn't at least combine the 5A-equivalent private schools with the 3A and 4A. I mean, I think the separate playoff is a terrible idea as it is, but having a total of 10 teams in a single bracket playing for a state title - 6 of which are in the same district is beyond any type of reason.

It would have been from what I heard:
1. Acadiana
2. Destrehan
3. Parkway
4. EA
Maybe flip-flop Acadiana and Destrehan.
The brackets would have been A LOT different. You'd probably be looking at a Dutchtown/Ruston quarterfinal paired up with Acadiana/Barbe.
Covington would have been likely eliminated by Parkway.
Zachary would be hosting Destrehan, not Dutchtown.
