Acadiana or St Thomas Moore will win the 5a this year .
Both are looking very good right now. They'll have to play before the Dome. The winner will probably get rewarded by getting WM.

Start believing. This is not going to be another season of unfulfilled expectations. They will make the Dome at least.
Geaux Wolves!
Gotta get by Acadiana and STM first.

Terrbonne and Mandeville matched up in a very evenly matched football tonight.
Mandeville came out and scored on their first drive, then a recovered blocked punt made it 14-7. Then two teams then traded scores and that made it 21-7.
Thats when the Terrbonne D showed up and put a stop to the Mandeville attack.
The Terrbonne offense lead by QB Mike Williams scored 21 straight points to make the game 28-21 with under 5:00 mintues to go.
Mandeville marched down and scored with just 1:17 left to go to make it 28-27, that would be the last points scored as the Mandeville kicker went wide right on the extra point!
Terrbonne 28, Mandeville 27

Zachary got up big and got to lax at halftime. One reciever for Assumption #21 had the game of his life. That along with some of the worst pass interference penalties made this game closer then it should have been. Zachary scored at will and had a couple tds called back or this game wouldn't even be close. Zachary matches up well with that veer option crap acadiana runs looking forward to that game.

Hahnville - West Jeff game was a good one as expected. WJ had 21-14 lead at half, having stopped HHS on a 4th and 2 at the WJ 12. 2nd half was all Tigers until final minute. HHS led 35-21 with about 1:10 left and had intercepted a pass at the 10. WJ then managed 10 pts in about 50 seconds and recovered an onside kick with 11 seconds left! Long pass completion on last play of game but tackle made at the 3.
On a somber note, tears flowed as the Tigers took the field minus Matt Scaruffi, a Soph LB who was killed in a gun cleaning accident last night. It was a tough day for the entire HHS community but the boys dug deep and gave it their best tonight.

just got back from WM. team is awesome, some of the hardest hitting i've ever seen in HS football. band is good, fans are good, stadium is meh, ours is better. their scoreboard needs an upgrade.
i also heard they're gonna replace their visitors side with a new home side that has suites and whatnot
but chalmette played hard. made too many little mistakes that added up, and WM just executed too well. when you add in paul turner, that's how that happened but of course, we were making our 5A playoff debut.
cody williams caught the most important TD in our history though on 3rd and goal with a minute left (after a perfect throw was dropped on 2nd and goal), and that 0 changed to a 6 against their ones, so i guess the team had a fun ride home. in 20 years he's gonna be telling people that TD was in the dome to beat WM
sylvera deserved that TD pass too, if only because we figured out an effective game plan, that, if used by teams with better personnel, could move the ball on WM. move a bit, evade the rush, short passes, mix with north to south running. we made more first downs than i thought we would.
before the game, it was all fun as coach Tucker took his team bowling. the fans stopped at a mall to eat beforehand. we knew what was likely gonna happen. one of their cheerleaders made a comment to me at halftime when i was at the concession stand, and i hope she can sleep well at night. that's not what you say to a guy whose team traveled 5 hours to trail 28-0 at half.
but it's not like we're gonna be the adorable likable 29 seed forever
but next year with rummel, jesuit, brother martin, and west jeff, i have a feeling 5-5 gets us in because each of those teams can win a lot of games. where might that get us? another shot at the Rebels

Man I'm proud of the way Woodlawn has shown up this year, hopefully we can stretch this run out for a few more weeks

Man, St. Micheals defense is the suck. Plus 60 given up the past 2 weeks. Great season for our good friend's kid Dash Duncan-too bad he left U-High.
Local 2-A schools sweep-East Feliciana, Donaldsonville, Capitol, Episcopal (FG on the final play) and U-High. I'd say we were in a tough district. Watch Capitol to give Evangel a run next week-they got a low seed due to all the games they lost when they were going through the players suspensions-their OL is huge, and they have good athletes at the skill positions. We get to travel to play New Orleans' second pro team, John Curtis.

Wouldn't be surprised if ESJ blew them out

When was the last time zachary played a team that ran the veer option crap offense anyway, much less one that averages 56 points a game?
Just wondering how they match up well to it, I know zachary has a pretty good team. Whats the defense like in zachary? What kind of offense do they run? Players to watch?
