looking at an advance forecast, us and the Byrd-Shreve series might have weather issues... i'm thinking game 1 Sunday night and a Monday doubleheader. Baseball just doesn't make sense to have NOLA-Shreveport trips early in the playoffs requiring hotel stays when games get rained out easily. i like the idea of the series, so we should regionalize it more.

and the Northshore is the only district in 5A without a team in round 2

and i like how the series are split evenly... 2 in NOLA, 2 in Shreveport, 2 in BR, and 2 in SW Louisiana

I'm pleasantly surprised Shreve pulled off the win. Too bad we aren't the same program since Coker left after winning state and back to back final appearances. This weekend series against byrd will be fun, but unfortunately I'm not very optimistic.

The program isn't far at all from what it once was. Shreve won a state title in 4A. Let's not forget that. Since Coker has left, there been 30 plus college players. There are currently 3 marruci elite players on Shreves team.

To give you am example in the difference in 4A and 5A- Benton had a .500 record and was ranked 6th in the state in 4A. Shreve was (16-14) and was ranked 25th in 5A.

It's a shame Parkview baseball sucks. That's what they get for making a cheap hire after ML retired.

St Amant/Brother Martin. What y'all think? Do y'all think Blayne Enlow can get a win for St Amant in game 1 and the Gators can grind out a second win in game 2 or 3?

state title
lose to JC in qtrs
lose to jc in finals

this year lose two senior starters - hardly sucking my man..

Iowa came in with a game plan and executed it to exploit PBS weaknesses it worked.

Enlow will not pitch game 1. Tidwell will get the start.

Good points. However, I think Shreve could have won 5A with those championship teams. Especially with West and Ross on the mound. In the title year, they were ranked in the top 25 nationally. And they have definitely had a drop off since Sharp took over. As you mentioned though, 5A is a different animal.

Will never forget my freshman year going up to Shreve and upsetting them (2008).

Rain in SE La is gonna put a damper on some games.

Could put more than a damper. If it rains like its called for Sat, it could push games to Monday. If that happens, pitching gets hugely effected. If I recall correctly, the pitching rules are still valid in the playoffs, so weekly inning counts might get interesting.

You mean the pitching rules that no one enforces?

I just love how the LHSAA makes a pitching rule to cover their arse but you try to tell an umpire that someone threw too many innings in consecutive days and they say they aren't in charge of it. Then you call the LHSAA and they say they aren't in charge of it. So why have a rule?
