When someone is actually making a good point and is well spoken we will let them go longer. Ask Pisces. He had a well thought out argument and we let him go. This might sound elitist but I don't like to do a show that is laid back and slow paced. I've got one hour. After commercials its about 44 minutes. If we had 3 hours we would probably let the callers go a little longer. One of the main problems is that hosts around here look at having a 3 hour show as a burden. They wonder how to fill 3 hours. It's not really hard to fill 3 hours. You just have to branch out and talk about different things and get guests. If you get one solid guest per hour and have a good topic 3 hours isn't hard to fill.

FWIW, Buddy should lose an hour and you guys should gain an hour, a 2-4 show

Well that won't happen so I don't get caught up in all that. I just focus on what I have to do to improve our show. It does amaze me that I hear hosts bitch about "filling" 3 hours. If you are worth anything you can provide enough content to put 3 good hours on the air. I've never looked at it as "filling". Think about it, each hour you've got 14-16 minutes of spots. 1/4 of each hour is already filled.

just curious what would it take to get an additional hour? Say Buddy leave's do you just fill him with someone else that pays to play or do they say lets give TFH another hour and do something with the other two?

I'm not sure. That would be up to the suits. It's all about making money. I'd like the opportunity though. I'm proud of the fact that we do something different. I'm doing something I enjoy that I am proud of and I like that

Seriously, Songy doesn't need three hours. What he does is almost like stealing. Nothin against the guy, but he doesn't show up for work with a gameplan and if he does...he's dumber than had thought.

If he'd think about the thousands who would love DECENT talk radio in BR instead of himself, he'd give up and hour or whatever. He can go work a real job for the other hour or two.

My biggest issue with some hosts is that they screw the audience. Some people don't realize they are being screwed but they are. When a host comes in with zero prep, no topics and says he's a "caller driven show" that doesn't mean he cares about the listeners...it means he's lazy. Bottom line. Something like 2 percent of radio listeners ever call a show.

Songy is in the wrong timeslot and talking to the wrong audience. The people who call in probably don't work or go to school.

I also cannot stand a host who's a blind homer. As big of an annoying homer douchebag as "Big Bama" is, Buddy doesn't have to get offended when there's a point that makes LSU look bad. That's why Buddy cannot stand "gene". Gene just called it like it was and told Buddy about it every Monday. After the Florida game, Buddy basically told Gene to stick it - putting it kindly. I am an LSU fan. I do not need a radio host to remind me of that.

Yes, we are getting robbed. It's like hearing someone reading the Advocate over the radio and making halfass observations while doing it. I don't want to hear Carl the Cat or the waitress at Sullivan's...Jesus, it'd be one thing if I could SEE the beautiful ladies of Sullivan's...talking that shite up on RADIO is as useless as tits on a turtle. I don't need 10 minute calls from Fish, MFP, or anyone else. It's amazing that these dudes don't stop calling and realize how big of dumbasses they sound.

I'd rather you keep your format as opposed to appeasing PJ and others. I don't know if you're cocky or not, because I do not know you...but it'd be good for y'all to get an extra hour, so you can take more calls. At one hour...I'd expect you to take 2 calls per segment.

It varies. I like callers but don't depend on them. I'm not a cocky person. I have fun on the radio and sometimes I can see where I come off as cocky or arrogant. For the most part I'm pretty self depricating. I don't take myself too seriously. When I feel my point is right I will let you know. If I think you are wrong I'll tell you. That's how it should be. Why make a statement if you don't feel it's right? BR does need more shows like ours. You might not like my personality or opinions but Baton Rouge would be better with actual "shows" like ours as opposed to infomercials. If I didn't think our show was worth defending I wouldn't do it. I am blown away by people that don't realize that hosts are giving them nothing. 10 minute calls, no topics, interviews with sponsors and no prep is lazy radio. I only do something that I would listen to myself.

Will do. Keep in mind that I don't start these threads. I just post in them. If people want to talk then I'll talk.

yeah right, like when you and your buddy kept going on about how the players could care less about the peach bowl and that they are going to get creamed by GT. Yall wouldn't listen to anybody else that had a different opinion and that the team might just suprise everybody. Yall know nothing about being an athlete or anything called pride... just like to hear yourselves talk.

And by tell them you mean do a zanny hick voice.

Josh, you are extremely imature and get flustered/defensive when someone calls you out or disagrees with you.

I can't listen to your show josh.
You stale before you even got it going.
Maybe it's the fact that everyone knows that you would never have a show unless your dad got you in.
I can't respect that and that's why I don't listen.

so having a little help to get started is a bad thing? If you wanted to work at a company and you know someone there and they help you does that make you any less qualified to do a job? I'm sorry most of the time in the real world its who you know that gets you to where you want to be.
